Its decent, but we need better start and dismissal times. 8:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m is good.

Some teachers take punishment way too seriously I’ve heard of children having to clean the boys bathroom bare handed, getting suspended for mear reasons and students hating teachers and wanting to drop out due to not liking learning there at all

As my sister attended this school a few years ago, i had noticed none of them cared about anything that had happened to their students. She had been bullied by some students for several months last school year because my mom has stage 4 liver cancer. All of her teachers were informed of our situation via email, but somehow only some of them had read their emails. Although the teachers had probably not seen the bullying happen, they could have had a better watch over their students. There are some white kids saying the n word, some kids bullying people with cancer, and appareantly also some people saying the r slur. The “popular kids” at her school are also the rudest people shes encountered. In her words, the bathrooms are also disgusting. She hated this school, she is never coming back here again.

We will go into year 3 at CK8 and have been grateful for the support we’ve received from Spec ed, deans, and principle. They are available and reachable when needed. Elementary school teachers have been wonderful and middle school has been great with the exception of one or two. Teachers are reachable through the internal systems when needed. I have been really impressed overall.

School overcrowding issues are not the fault of the school, but the district and local politicians. It's frustrating for everyone involved. People should voting in all elections accordingly. The School does a phenomenal job of working to address these issues and ensure all children are receiving a quality education. Safety is a big priority to administrators, our SRO and teachers, they are continually working to improve safety. Parents with concerns in either of these areas should be attending SAC and PTA meetings to have their concerns addressed. These meetings do not have a lot of participation, which is disappointing considering you have a direct audience with the Principal. K-8 is not the only area school we have attended and I can say with complete confidence it is by far the best of those we have attended. My children love their school. It's not without issues, all schools have them, but there are hard working people who I have always seen, take them seriously. There is a new Principal who seems very excited to be here and help the school reach its highest potential. I've gotten a very good impression of him thus far and I'm excited to see what he does for our school. This school is blessed with a lot of volunteer/parent/guardian participation. I also don't believe the statistics on diversity are correct, the last I heard there are children speaking 42 different languages at the school. Children representing out Families in Transition are supported and loved. For example, PTA regularly provides funding so that these children can enjoy events such as the Book Fair and Holiday Shoppe. I've seen teachers and volunteers pull from their own pockets to assist as well. I find it sad that not all parents find the school to be to their satisfaction, but for the most part I feel parents are quite happy. I certainly see more parents happy vs. upset.

A large population of students making it difficult to meet all of their needs. Small fish in the big sea. Dual Language a program is excellent with wonderful teachers. Some classrooms are overcrowded. High staff turnover which makes things very difficult. Walkers and bikers pickup location is quite a disaster with too many children getting out at one location.

my children all attend the school and are happy and thriving. They have good teachers who care about them and really focus on helping them to get the best education they can. I moved to Celebration for the school, and would not consider any other school place for my children in the area. The principal Rhonda McMahon is extremely caring, and is trying very hard to maintain an excellent environment for the kids to learn in, while dealing with increased enrollment for the past two years with the expansion of the middle school. I highly recommend celebration K-8!

My child struggled at this school and the staff was zero help. It took them 5 months to get some sort of accommodations set up, the school is over crowded and my child was in a class of 45 students to one teacher for at least 3 months before another teacher was hired. I chose this school specifically for their "A rating" and was extremely disappointed.

My daughter has been here for two years and is begging me to move her out of the school. The staff is so concerned with keeping their "A" school reputation, they have created a stressful learning environment for the children. It seems as if they forgot the purpose IS the children, not their reputation. She is constantly stressed, exhausted and feels she cannot be an 8 year old child. Much of the staff are short-tempered, and constantly scream at the children. However, I am not surprised because the teachers feel the pressure to maintain the reputation of the Celebration district as well so they have to run it militant style!

I don't understand why people rate this school below 5 stars. My daughter had 02 amazing years at Celebration School, even during the pandemic all the staff was able to handle the situation with online and in person class. We really miss this school and we miss Mrs. Brounagh, Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. and Mrs. Jones, Gabriela. They all teach to my daughter on 2nd and 3rd grade.Thank you teachers and staff for all your effort and care for our kids.

My daughter has no break from 8:40am until 2:09pm. She has classes back to back during this time, almost six hours. She does not have even a fifteen minute break during this time. She does not have lunch during this time. Lunch is at 2:09pm. By then she is hungry and feels sick. The school day has become like an endurance test. She also can not talk to friends because there is no recess time and at lunch time the kids are made to sit in alphabetical order. So there is no incentive to go to school since talking to friends is what kids really look forward to. I don't think adults are allowed to work at a job for that long with no break. Why is this happening to our kids then? On top of this, the kids are required to keep a three inch binder. This does not even fit in their backpacks with their lunch box. Instead of loose leaf paper, just enough for that week, in a thin binder, they are required to bring six 100 page notebooks in the rings of the binder. This weighs many pounds and makes it even harder to get the unwieldy binder in and out of their backpack fourteen times a day. The binder is so wide they can hardly fit their hands around it. What is frustrating is that they are not even using all this paper that they are burdened with carrying all around. The teachers give them handouts. Instead of the handouts having three holes so they can put them in a thin binder, they don't, so the kids glue the handouts into their 100 page notebooks. They are also required to have six folders in their binders. The binders can't even support all these notebooks and folders so it is hard to move the notebooks and folders around on the rings. All this frustration for no reason. Why not have a thin folder with loose leaf paper and dividers, or a two three-subject notebooks? My daughter actually thought college will be this way. What a way to make kids not want to go to college! College is nothing like this. In college you will be trusted to organize your own papers in whatever way works for you. You will choose either notebooks or a thin binder with loose leaf paper, but not this cumbersome ridiculous approach that just makes everyone hate school. Way to go making school a completely miserable experience. Who knows the sad impact this will have on hundreds of kids lives.

We are very happy with the school, my children enjoy it very much. I would recommend it, no doubt. Celebration is a community where parents care about their kids education and teachers seem to be motivated and following the same path.

My kids (6 and 10 years old) love to go to school. I see they care about them, there are really good teachers, my kids are learning many things besides enjoying their school time. We are having a great experience!

ZERO!!!! The teacher caused the worse day of our lives! We spoke with her in the open house (the day before) and she showed us where the gym is (carpool parents stay in front of the gym) . Also I wrote my phone number in her paper (it was in a desk when we got in the classroom) and that my daughter was carpool but she put my daughter on a bus! She didn't even apologies. She didnt even care about us! We went there next day and she said that she realized the mistake when she got home but she never called me or the school to find out if my daughter was found. The bus stopped very far from where we lived ( we were living there for only 2 days). There was no adults or kids there. I don't understand why the driver let a child get off the bus in the firs day of school if there is nobody waiting for her. She was 7 years old. After I don't know how long a lady with a dog found her. We took 1 hour and 40 min to find her. It took about 45 min for the school find out that she was put on a bus. The school didn't help with anything! just gave us a number from the bus schools that never answeared. Nobody knew where the bus would stop. They never called to ask if we found her and we took almost 2 weeks for the principal finally see us! Nobody did care about it! The principal said that it happens for at least 4 or 5 kids every year! She seems like it is normal! What??? :( My daughter came from a wonderful public school in another state where it was very organized so we got very scared since the time we got to K-8 to pick our daughter up in this first day because they walk a long way (small and bigger kids together. They all leave at the same time). They don't have a number or anything to prove who the parents are. Anybody can get there and take a child. It's a HUGE mess!!!!

When your child looks forward to going to school each day, you know they are doing something right!

My grandson currently attends this school. When we moved to another residence, the staff were told that he was not to ride the bus to our old home & that he would be riding in our car until further notice. They called the teacher to tell her & put a note in his records. When I got there to pick him up, it took the staff 20 minutes to discover their mistake by placing him on the bus. THIS SCHOOL LOST MY GRANDSON & DID NOT CARE. I raced to where the bus would have dropped him off only to discover that I had missed it. Luckily, the bus driver was a wonderful & decent man. He noticed the child wandering around aimlessly & asked him what was wrong. My grandson told him that he did not live here anymore. The bus driver went out of his way, broke policy, & took my grandson home anyway, which was not on his route. (Which I did not know about at the time.) When I went back to the school to see if the bus driver had taken them back there, the office was CLOSED!!!! WHO CLOSES THEIR OFFICES WHEN THEY KNOW THAT THEY HAVE LOST A CHILD?? Actually multiple children, there was another parent there stating that her daughter could not be found, as well, in addition to my grandson's friend, who's family was staying with us at the time. So that is a total of 3 missing children. And that is just one of the many horrible things about this school. I could write volumes.

The one star does not apply to many wonderful teachers and staff members at this school, but Unfortunately the bad experiences dictate this rating.
