I would say that this school has much room for improvement. Some of the teachers are very helpful and some are not. I disagree with the new education standards and not giving homework, I feel it is setting students up for a rude awakening when they get to high school and college. The school had a new principal this year and she is resigning after this year. My son will tell me of students who act out and can be disruptive. Just this past Wednesday we had received a recorded message that there was a suspicious weapon found and CRPD was contacted. It turns out that it was a pellet gun that shoots air pellets, and we were notified the next day that it was not loaded. This incident happened the same day as the shooting in Florida. I felt that this issue is being handled all wrong. Students are not being told what is going on. They should of had an all school assembly to talk about what happened at Wilson on Wednesday and what happened in Florida and to make sure that everyone is aware of expectations and consequences. Depending on the crowd/activities your child decides to do or associate with will determine your child's experience with this school. My husband and I like to be active with the teachers and know what is going on and I feel that this lacks with this school. Now I understand it is apart of growing up and learning responsibility, but if parents are engaged just as much as the students, maybe just maybe grades and testing scores might be better. It gives parents the opportunity to help kids learn outside of the classroom.

This is by far the worst school I have ever seen including the sub-par schools of Waterloo.

I think that Wilson School is a great school and that it is very nice to have the quality of teachers that this fine school has especially the 8th grade Science Teacher. I think that the teachers really care and that they are striving very hard to get the children to learn. Keep up the good work.
