We have had a wonderful experience at The Howard School. My children have felt safe to express themselves and learn at their own pace in a highly individualized and supportive environment. The students look forward to fun traditions at The Howard School like the class plays, the Howard variety show, the Christmas program and working with their little/big buddies on campus. I would highly recommend Howard to any family who values education, community and smaller class sizes for their child.

The Howard school has been an amazing experience for my children. My kids have gone through The Howard School from preschool-8th grade. Not only does the school provide the feeling of having a second family but they have both discovered a love of learning. The tools they are taking with them to high school and beyond are invaluable.

If my daughter could stay at Howard until grad school I would be over the moon. I couldn’t dream of a better environment for children or their parents. I cannot praise the staff, students and parents enough.

My son has attended The Howard School from Kindergarten and is now in fifth grade. He has developed into a well rounded student with a strong desire to learn. His desire to learn was crafted by all his teachers that focus on each child's needs and teach to each child. Respect, responsibility and reason are the core values of the Carden method of teaching. Howard focuses on academics and arts and encourages creativity and community outreach.

My daughter attended this school and it was such a positive experience. The small classes allow for individualized instruction so every child is able to reach his or her potential. The PE program and a rich arts program (visual, music, drama) enhance the academic curriculum. The students are taught and learn to be kind and respectful of their peers and teachers. There is a lot of love and laughter here.

The headmaster will hire just about anyone to be your kids teacher no credentials necessary. they do not treat the kids with respect and use candy as rewards for learning. i don't recommend this school.

We have two children currently attending The Howard School. Both are different types of learning and the Carden Curriculum lets them both work to their fullest potential. There is lots of structure at the school, which most thing would not be a great thing in today's society, but trust me. The kids feel safe to be who they are because they get so much support and caring from the staff. It's not a perfect school, but it's one that is real in every way and they are flexible and will do what it takes to make sure each child is successful. We feel so luck to have found this school for our kids.

What a find The Howard School is. If you live in the Santa Barbara/Ventura Area, you need to check it out. We have two kids who attend the school and it really is a hidden gem. Small class sizes with individualized instruction. Kids are never overlooked in class and they grow and learn at their own pace. The Headmaster is amazing and the teachers really love to teach. The school's motto is "Reason, Respect & Responsibility" which seems like a no brainer, but its something that not every school is committed to teaching. If you just want a "feel good" school, this is not the place. Kids are expected to rise to their individual potentials and believe it or not....they do! Highly recommend

The most charming school And true family environment. My children look forward to going to school each day. Every teacher knows every student and when the head master shakes the hand of every child each morning they know they are in a safe and caring environment.
