We couldn't be happier with our experience at CRES. I'm thankful every day that this is the school I chose for my children. The teachers pour their hearts into the students. Don't let this score fool you. Our school has special circumstances and that's part of what I love about sending my children here. The teachers, support staff, outdoor grounds, enrichment programs, parent involvement and passion for our children in our diverse community is what makes this school so amazing! My kids love learning and feel loved here.

Great school, energized staff and high caliber educators. We shopped around; not impressed by one other option and didn't get our 'golden ticket' pulled for the other so we enrolled at CRES and could not be happier. We found a great mix of kids and involved parents and teachers that are determined to help our boys flourish. Ignore the 2/10 and take a tour.

The 2/10 score does not represent the quality of this school. It is wrong that the benefits of the diversity of the student population impacts the test scores so much. I wouldn't be able to pass a test in another language either.

I think CRES is a fabulous school! I have three children attending CRES and they LOVE their school, their teachers and classmates. It is a pleasure to know that my children are excited about learning and it is because of CRES's dedicated staff that they have flourished. CRES has also been wonderfully on top of mine and other families kids that need to be challenged more through their gifted/PEAk program, as well as finding where others need extra support. I cannot say enough about CRES and their school community.

Karen Olson has proven to be an inspirational and engaged leader at CRES. Our child has had an outstanding experience at this school and the involvement of the parents is exceptional. Fantastic teachers, too! This school has dealt with a surge in non-english speaking students over the past several years with grace.

Crystal River Elementary School: Great community of teachers, students, and parents that come together to meet the needs of each child.

Children have PE, visual arts and music. They have Spanish class every day. Dual-language is an option. Small class size (less than 18). Teachers are energetic. Principals are responsive.

An amazing place to work with kids. Also, a place I feel proud to send my child to school because he is learning a lot about life.

CRES profoundly supports the diversity of its students. Here all students are regarded for their own unique and inherent qualities. I consider it the real alternative education, in that our children develop and grow honoring each other for their cultural differences rather than their homogeneity. Not only are our children taught to think critically and creatively, they are also modeled a means to view their environments with tolerance and integrity.

They are a smaller school struggling to get playground equipment for their students. They have great teachers, but funds are short.

I love this school because my child gets the opportunity to learn two languages and build bi-cultural relationships. I also love the level of parent involvement that is apparent during school and in our school cafeteria everyday. I like that our school lunches are healthy and available to all children every day.

Because it is working so hard to try and educate some children that mean a lot to me and my family. They deserve all the support they can get.
