I can't say enough good things about this school. We moved to this area so our kids could attend this elementary school. The teachers and staff are incredible and care about their students. When issues have come up with other kids the teachers, counselor, and principal have been on top of it to make sure they get to the bottom of whatever is going on. I feel so safe and comfortable with my kids at this school. I would highly recommend it to any family looking for a great community.

Chaparral has been a wonderful school for both of my children. They have excelled academically and socially. The teachers are kind, strict and keep the students on track to be able to be prepared for middle school. The leadership is very strong at Chaparral and students emotional needs are being met. Chaparral has a full time counselor and music/art classes for students.

Chaparral is an incredible school. The teachers are dedicated to the students and community. The strong parents association helps to support the teachers and administrators year round to cultivate a love of learning and provide additional resources when needed. The school focuses on the "whole student" growth mindset which is awesome. Chaparral has specialists for PE, music and art, as well as a media clerk. There are opportunities for parent involvement and a high level of ongoing communication to parents from the teachers and staff. This is a fabulous school!

So disappointed in the handling of conflict at this school. We experienced multiple events of bullying, racism, and threats of physical violence towards our kids. How does this happen in elementary school? When I spoke with the principle she tells me her feelings are hurt after I ask why we’re not seeing change/action over 3 years? Gaslighting the parent of the victim is neither productive nor appreciated. My 3 kids have been miserable since moving into this district, LVUSD is not nearly living up to their reputation for being a great district and this school in particular is very subpar. Currently looking into other options and seeking legal guidance to protect my children. Unbelievable to be dealing with this in 2022.

Great school, with caring teachers. The principal is very involved and she is into using new technologies. They started music and choir last year, which I hope they keep. We have a great art teacher. If they be able to keep the ratio low, this is a great school.

Great school community, but I do think the class rooms are too much for one teacher and no Aid. It's easy for the kids to fall behind if you do not do consistant homework at the home beyond what was handed out.

Amazing school community. The teachers are creative, hardworking and nurturing. The parents are very involved. PFC makes it possible for lots of technology, art, PE and music program!

DIRE SITUATION. There is a cadre of under motivated, change-resistant teachers who hold tremendous power at the school and have held back progress and made life on campus very difficult for other teachers, students, and parents. The PTA group sometimes means well, but is focused almost completely on fundraising, gossip, and popularity. The campus is ugly and ill-kept. Our midwestern small town had much more pride in keeping the school beautiful and cheerful for kids. Sad.

VERY DISAPPOINTING! Educational approaches are traditional. Many teachers are just coasting - teaching the same dry material they have for 20 years, with minimal interaction and creativity required from students. The culture at school is warm, but there are many disgruntled parents who feel let down by teachers and administration. Our kids have friends at other local schools who have great art and music classes in school and can't understand why Chaparral does not offer these opportunities.

A top rate school with excellent teachers. One of the wonderful things about Chaparral is that it is the center of the community and the kids grow up together.
