Gate is nice and the kids are super friendly and kind. HOWEVER, the kids not in gate and with bad grades are not as nice and in math they will randomly make fart noises and scream like dolphins. The music teacher is really nice and makes it easy to learn. Some kids are furries though. They will bark at you. Some of the boys will cat call you.

I don't think AEW gets the credit it deserves. It is truly an amazing school and the kids and teachers are very nice. I look forward to go to school every day. It is such a great school. It is very chill and there are very few bullies. There are good counselors as well.

My child loves AE Wright Middle School. The staff and teachers are so kind and helpful. They have lots of fun activities for the kids to make it the best middle school experience. There are all levels of learners here and are supported well accordingly. The Media Center/Library is a nice place for the students to hang out and even a maker space in the back with plenty of room. Mrs. Trupp does an outstanding job with the ASB and activities for all the students. The music program is also outstanding. This is a well rounded school with events and activities for all!

Our daughter started 6th grade in the GATE program this year and we have been very happy with her experience. She is thinking more critically about subject matters and asking better questions. She does not receive a lot of homework, so she has time to focus on the extracurricular activities that bring her joy without added stress. Her friends are lovely and her teachers care - not just about academics but also about the social emotional development of their students. Our daughter has been so happy at AE Wright and is thriving, we highly recommend this school and its GATE program.

My son is at the GATE program in 7th grade now. He has amazing teachers and loves the program. I believe the teaching method in the GATE program gives our kids a much deeper understanding of the subjects. As a parent I have been very pleased with everything about the school, and extremely impressed with the teachers, their knowledge, and their kindness towards the kids. Amazing group of professionals.

I absolutely love this school. The teachers and staff are VERY engaged and care about the students. They handled the pandemic beautifully and have not ceased to amaze me. LVUSD is a much better fit than LAUSDI highly recommend this school

AEW has provided a wonderful GATE education for my child. She has really grown since she started there in the middle of Covid. The staff, teachers and students are all supportive and respectful of one another. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking at middle schools in our area.

We have two children in the GATE program at AE Wright, and we’ve been very happy with the culture of the school and the education the kids are getting. The teachers are creative, thoughtful and dedicated to the kids—they really go above & beyond.

I've had two students go through this school for the past 6 years, and I'm so sad to be completing our time there. I never write reviews, but it's the least I can do to thank the teachers, staff and administration for their commitment and dedication to the students during good times and challenging times. The teaching staff is absolutely incredible! They are truly dedicated to their students and love their jobs. I cannot say enough good things about the GATE program, music, science, PE and all academic subjects. Additionally, the school and incredible leadership program worked hard to provide lots of at-school fun activities and enrichment for the kids even during the heights of the pandemic. And the school community is very kind and low-drama. The Principal, Assistant Principal, and Office Staff are kids, good people and always a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend this school without hesitation!

My son has attended school here all 3 years. He has been challenged in his classes and has to earn his grades. Activities try to reach out to many different kids. My son enjoyed the Color Run and trips offered. The school has been supportive of all the changes over the last several years. Glad my student went to school there.

My child is in his 3rd year of the GATE program at A.E. Wright and has excelled tremendously. His teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure he understands the material and to make learning interesting. The administration cares about their students. We have had an overall wonderful experience at this school and would highly recommend it to others.

We did not have a good experience at this school. Across the board it was a difficult (as far as administration) and uncaring place and I would not recommend this school. Before my kids started here someone said to me, “oh not that school. My wife is a substitute teacher and she won’t even work there.” I disregarded this comment based on the district’s reports high test scores etc thinking these scores are proof the school is a good environment. Unfortunately many students seem to be pushed aside if they are not good standardized test takers. As a result, students who have any issues adjusting or difficulty with any subject will be routed into classes with lower performing teachers or even into Spec Ed. The school “tracks” students quickly resulting in harm to all but a small group in the GATE program. These students do benefit from the best resources and teachers but the rest of the students then are left with a disproportionately low quality of education at this school. I would say the maybe are a few good LVUSD schools but by middle school and definitely in high school LVUSD is not l, or no longer is, all it once was praised to be. I would not chose LVUSD and more specifically I would avoid it if at all possible.

This school is full of bad teachers entitled students. Both of my kids had a bad experience here and I even had to pull one out of school. After this School year is over my 2nd daughter will not be coming back!

If you make it into the Gate program, definitely go. Honors is great too. Accelerated Math is very fast going.

I’m a parent who is not as involved as I would like to be but this school is no joke so please don’t bring your kiddos here if you want 90% warm and fuzzy-it’s hard work with serious teacher who expect high dedication to education and future advancement.

School is way better than Lindero. Aew may be a bit harder ,but I've learned way more than LCMS has taught me. Way less fights ,and drama than LCMS.

Coming from Maryland and the 25th middle school of the nation, it was quite a change. Electives are all about music, no foreign language but Spanish. Some supervising staff were unprofessional; one teacher very hard on students to the point my child was frustrated and barely progressed. The only time you get to meet teachers or come inside the school is at the back to school night when you are asked to give a big check. Regarding other comments about bullying or incidents, I was called 10 times for minor things...so I'm surprised to hear that. Didn't like the block schedule especially when students have to carry such heavy loads, not having lockers. For the 1st time, my child didn't even have 1 teacher he loved and admire...that tells something!

Worst school ever. DO NOT send your kids here unless they are EXACTLY like the majority, if you know what I mean. My kid is part of the GATE program, gets bullied every day, now he hates school. Admin does nothing, thanks a bunch AE Wright
