This school is terrible. The teachers are good but they wont own up to their own mistakes, and blame all their problems on the kids. its always the kids fault, because teachers refuse to take initiative and lead the class. This place just sucks. Period.

For someone of color growing up in this high school was not a healthy environment. A lot of the staff never really seemed to care for their students. Bullying was a huge issue on top of that. Their handle of students were sometimes quite questionable.

I recently attended my siblings graduation from this school, and during the ceremony the principal bragged about achieving a graduation rate of over 85%, what he didn't mention were the corners cut in order to reach that figure. When I was at this school, the district had a policy known as "circle 50", which would round grades for the first 3 quarters up to 50/100 if a student had a grade bellow 50, so you only really had to try in the fourth quarter. The school also stopped caring about homework and attendance. I know a few of my friends practically never did their homework, and showed up for less than half of the school days. Did they graduate? You bet! As long as you can pass the tests, especially the NY Regents exams, you will graduate. Does this means the students learned enough to pass the tests? I doubt it. Most students just cram for the tests, and subsequently forget everything once the test is done. If this is what you call learning, you should send your kids here, but if you want your kids to actually get an education, avoid this school.

This school is awful. The teachers play favorites and guidance is beyond useless. If the kids screw up, it's the kids fault. If the teachers/staff screw up, it's STILL the kids fault. They make no effort and take no blame. This school makes a mockery of education. The school answers to the school board which has a very "one hand washes the other" approach to dealing wish issues, meaning many complains and problems are ignored. Ordinarily, I have a great deal of respect for educators, but not here. These people are a disgrace. I was lucky enough to receive a proper education for much of my childhood, so I can honestly say I know what a real educational experience looks like- this isn't it. The fact that they still try to pretend this is anything more than a good-ol-boy run day care is a joke.

My school is a place to learn and thrive. I enjoy the amounts of knowledge I receive when I walk through the doors each day.

I graduated from this school a few years ago, and I had a horrible experience. The student body thrives on cliques, and the dropout rate is fairly high. Due to this small student body, if a student doesn't fit in with a clique, they are pushed aside. Teachers often do nothing to keep this from happening, and don't make an effort to get involved with parents or students. They have a tendency to be snotty and unfair. In my particular case, my foreign language and math skills are below par, and I have needed to play catch-up in my post-secondary education. I'm ashamed that I've come from this terrible system. Parents: If you have the option to send your child to a private school, or even just a different school system, please do so. For their sake.
