This school is excellent and trusted across the board and recommend this school. Safety, Education, Parent involvement, Social Emotional, Ministry, are wonderful experiences. I am grateful to have enrolled my child here and recommend this school.

I agree that you don’t get what you paid for. School was updated but only light makeover. Teachers after 2nd grade still inexperienced and not teaching children much. Many combined classes. Rude principals and parents. Although majority of students are minorities, if you are Caucasian you will be treated better than minorities. They treat minorities very poorly at this school. Also children are not supervised and get injured on a daily basis. Lots of children leave every year due to poor environment, lack of credentialed staff and favoritism towards certain ethnicities.

We've been at SRB for several years now. The faculty and staff here are phenomenal: caring, intelligent and creative people with integrity who truly care about children learning. I am incredibly grateful my children were here through the pandemic; the schools shut down on March 16, and by the following Monday, parents were picking up their children's books to have them logging into Google classroom and Zoom. They didn't miss a beat. When it became apparent that children were having a rough time, the school helped in countless ways. There are teachers that have a permanent place of gratitude in my heart for how they went out of their way to help my children because we communicated with the teachers and staff. They took an interest in letting my children know they cared for them *as people*, from letters to my children in the mail to distanced reading in our front yard after school. SRB met their students/families with an unparalleled compassion and flexibility. Now that we're back in person, many children don't have the social skills that they should have developed, and the teachers are really pushing them to learn those skills, maintaining boundaries without compromising compassion. They are challenging them to grow both intellectually, socially, and emotionally as much as they can. In terms of special education, public schools have myriad resources available to them, but I've seen SRB try to work with parents of children with different disabilities with creative and respectful solutions.SRB has a phenomenal math program, and their language/writing program, thanks to the focus of the principal and development of the teachers over the last few years, is improving greatly. They've been trying to improve their art and STEAM programs as well, and they're succeeding. The biggest area that needs improvement is numbers for the school; if people would give it a chance and come, this would actually be a problem that solves itself. I'm hoping that people will realize this and start building the numbers back up!

I am a mother of a current Kindergarten student. In March 2021, my husband and I were concerned about our son’s social/emotional well-being. Due to the pandemic, our son was at home. Being an only child, he didn’t interact with other children. We knew he had to be in school. We searched for schools in our area but could not find a school that impressed us. In speaking with a long-time SRB parent, my husband and I decided to see what all the fuss was about. During our school tour, my teacher’s heart was delighted to learn that SRB offers P.E and music classes, and opportunities for STEM activities. The elementary schools in the district I work for currently do not have physical education with a P.E instructor, and some schools do not have music instruction. Because we knew the benefits of these classes, it was a no-brainer to enroll him. Both my husband and I are pleased with his teachers, as they are dedicated professionals that genuinely love what they do. We are grateful for the ongoing communication we have with them. Last but not least, we appreciate the low-class size. Our son receives more one-on-one attention from his teachers, rare in a public school setting. He is now an avid reader, writer and is a great mathematician. We highly recommend SRB to anyone looking for an excellent school for their children.Thank you!

St. Robert Bellarmine welcomed our son with open arms and his Kinder teacher believed that all children thrive when they're truly loved. The entire administration cares deeply about the students, including their safety and spiritual development. They become confident leaders which they carry with huge success into the high schools that follow. Our son, a sixth grader, is scoring over a 9th grade level and is a confident reader and writer. We love the school, and welcome all who choose a safe, inclusive, and loving place for their children. Lastly, during the Covid lockdown, they didn't miss a step, seamlessly transitioning to an effective online learning environment.Mutual respect and inclusivity is upheld in the classroom and the entire population truly care about each other. We are very happy here, please consider us, you will not regret the choice.

I recently enrolled my son in Kindergarten at this school after moving to the city of Burbank. I am very happy that I decided to enroll him to this school. I grew up in Burbank myself and have been going to the church as well since my parents are still living in Burbank as well. The school has a great kindergarten teacher that is very dedicated and passionate to her teaching and the students. The students feel this and they in turn are learning very well and are happy including my son. The curriculum is also wonderful as my son is now learning to read and write. He is also learning a lot of math as well.Thank you St Robert Bellarmine School! I highly recommend them.

Excellent! My kids are happy! It’s a small community. They do and offer a lot. I wish there was more room, but it’s a great place.

Enrolling my son at this school was a waste of money. Every year they change teachers, especially for the upper grades. The teachers in upper grades don't have any teaching experience, and some don't even have teaching credentials, and the curriculum is very weak, therefore, the upper grade teachers don't prepare students for high school. I was new in the area and I didn't know much about this school but it is close to my house so I I I decided to give it a try. Now that I had my son there, I would NEVER recommended it to anyone. There's a reason why other schools around the area have a much higher student enrollment. SRB has a very low enrollment in every grade. Some parents tried it for a year and take their children somewhere else. Students who stayed there are usually relatives of the teachers or staff. But what makes the school worse is the PRINCIPAL. The principal can be very subjective and rude with some parents.Teaching credentials are public records, you can search any educator in the California Teaching Credential Commission and look-up any teachers name.

My kids are on their fourth year of attendance at SRB.They have loved each teacher they have had. All four teachers have proven to be very strong in academics as well as religion. They are compassionate, kind and caring individuals who are living their calling, developing and mentoring our future leaders. We have a great principal who really puts students interest first. This year she has committed to bring a soft intro to STEM into the curriculum and the students are really enjoying it.

Being a former student at St. Robert Bellarmine has influenced me for the better. This school has greatly taught me what it means to be respectful, kind, and has prepared me for high school and beyond. The faculty and staff at St. Robert Bellarmine treat the students like their own. My friends and I have always felt a personal connection with the teachers and our fellow classmates who we view as siblings from a young age. This school provides several opportunities for student growth religiously and academically. Both my older sibling and I attended St. Roberts from kindergarten through 8th grade, and we have always looked forward to school every day. Looking back, I am extremely grateful for the education I have received here, for it has advanced me in many of my high school subjects. Personally, I am looking forward to one day when my kids can attend St. Robert Bellarmine and have the same wonderful experiences as I have had here. -KN

I have been wanting to write a review for a while now but have not had the time. Now I do. I will have to agree strongly with the others who were/are not happy with the level of junior high instruction. Our child finished 8th grade there and I could not be more happy that he is not there anymore. My wife did not want to remove him because of the stress of having to change schools and she felt at the mercy of the 8th grade English teacher because our child needed a good recommendation. As a result, we did not complain. She was probably the laziest teacher we have ever seen. She spends her two hours or so of class time sticking the kids on their iPads while, according to my son and his friends, she spends the class with her nose stuck in her phone. It was really unbelievable and I am still a bit embarrassed by the fact we kept him there. Do not send your child to this school for junior high. Save your money. If you live in Burbank you will get a much better level of education at the public schools. If Catholic education is important to you like it was to us, explore the other alternatives in the area.

I would hesitate before sending your child to the middle school grades here. The lower grades are fine but the constant turnover rate among the 6th - 8th grade teachers along with the level of instruction they are receiving is not good. Just look at the enrollment numbers and that should tell you something. 7th and 8th grade both have about ten students in each class. Far too much emphasis is placed on teaching the children with iPads instead of lectures and actual writing. When teachers are out, which can be often, substitutes are not hired and kids are sent to sit in another teacher's classroom and work quietly while another class is going on. The science instruction is somewhat of a joke as there are no labs or lab materials. I regret keeping my child here and will probably be removing him to start another middle school.

I give it 10 out of 10! Excellent principal, teachers and administrators that are kind, dedicated and supportive. My child, as well as many others, look forward to school! I have recommended to 2 families and they are both very thankful. SRB provides a safe, community oriented family that promotes Catholic values while providing a rigorous curriculum including electives such as PE, music, computer and Spanish classes. Overall, the best gift a parent can provide their child. Please go to the school and see for yourself!

Oh my. Where do I begin with the SRB. I should have done more homework and found out what this school was really about. As a graduate of catholic school myself, I'm struggling to see how I'm spending my money to benefit my child's holistic education. Maybe if I were one of the parents in the "inner circle" that have been given almost exclusive leeway at the school, I would fare better. Send your kid somewhere else if you value good education.

Extremely disappointed. This principal and her deputy and assistant are probably the most immature set of administrators I have seen in a while. I'm really not sure what these children are learning, this curriculum is not in the least challenging and it is definitely not well rounded. The only person that seems to know what he is doing is the math teacher. They are extremely caught up in the appearance of being Catholic, they've lost sight of everything else. This is not what was sold to me coming in. Very, very disappointed.
