The parents and kids don't always have their priorities in the right place. Working together as a team is the best approach for kids to learn but a lot of the time it feels like only the teachers job.

Love the Fannin Elementary school academically but they need to do better about the food. My son has disabilities so he has his dislikes about textures when it comes to foods, he has never liked cereal. So for him to come and eat breakfast and they give out 2 french toast sticks, cereal,of course juice fruit and a milk. But remind you he doesnt like cereal so all he gets is 2 pieces of french toast sticks, i asked the cafeteria lady but he doesnt eat cereal so shouldn't he get more and no only 2 was her answer. I mean i dont have a problem with feeding my child at home. That's not the problem the problem is what about the other 400+ students that come in and dont like cereal neither. Just the other day a Father was in her complaining because his daughter got a buiscuit hard as a rock. If the kids dont eat cereal there should be a more suitable option, to get the kids thru the rest of the day. We dont know if most of the kids go to bed hungry at night and then get to school and still aren't being fed properly. A couple of the parents speak up and are told to talk to the principal, but still no changea so now what????

Fannin has made great gains the past two years. Great teachers and parents! Proud to be a Fannin Falcon! Preliminary test results for 2013 show growth in every subject and in each subgroup. There is active parent involvement and volunteers. Fannin has a family atmosphere that puts kids first!
