I am rating this school as a 3 star school. In my experience the school is OK. If you are popular in the school then things go better for you. My experience in the front office is hot and cold. I have been treated nicely and sometimes rudely. It depends on which person is there. The recess ground is a joke. Kids do whatever they want and the teachers on duty are too busy talking to see what goes on. In the lunch room there are some ladies in there that act like they are drill sargents. The principal seems nice but I have heard some stories about how he treats the children. It also seems like the school right next door is better. They seem to do more and I always notice they put up decorative signs in front of the school at the end of the year. Again, I rate it 3 stars, not just because of one thing but because of many things.

We have been here for two years and have nothing but a good experience even during the pandemic. Mr. Chambers is a great principal that goes beyond to know his students at the school. The high ability program is really great. The class is project based. I also have a child in general ed and he loves the school and teachers. My kids love all their specials teacher (Pe, Art, Gym, music, etc.) During the pandemic everything was really organized and they have done a great job at mitigating the virus at school with very low cases. The curriculum is district based so it probably doesn’t matter which Brownsburg school you go do. They seem to all be really good. Students who fall behind get a personal tutor. I really don’t know how much better you can get for public school. You’re paying for it in housing prices but it is still cheaper than living in Carmel.

The principal Scott Chambers is terrible. I would not wish this school on my worst enemy. The school rates high because if you have a child that struggles in any subject they do everything in their power to either medicate the child or push them out of the school. My kids were perfect students and we loved the school until my husband unexpectedly passed away and my son (2nd grader) fell behind in one of his classes. Scott Chambers has done nothing but harass me and my children ever since. It’s sick to see what we have allowed our public schools to do to kids that have a bad year. I’m now going to pay for private school because I can’t allow my kids to be terrorized by this principal any longer. I have spoken to several other parents that have all experienced the same behavior from this principal. Good Luck.

My son has been a student at Reagan for 2 1/2 years now, and though there has been some drama in administration turnover, the effects to students were minimal and this has been a great school overall. Many of the benefits that Reagan students enjoy are probably due to the overall quality of the Brownsburg school district, but my son is loving Reagan Elementary and is being stretched academically on a daily basis. We have no complaints and can't wait to see our other two children blossom at Reagan as well.
