Let me start by saying the teachers at this school are amazing. We’ve been here for 2 years coming from Southern California and my child has excelled in her classes. The kids absolutely love them environment. The participation of the families are great. I have zero complaints. I’m excited to continue my childs schooling here.

When we first started here, it was a wonderful experience. As the years have gone by it has gradually gotten worse. This year has been the worst. The teacher has no accountability for herself. She bullies the students and makes vague threats that she's going to be holding students back. There is a huge breakdown in communication and when her entire class is struggling she doesn't seem to realize that is a reflection on her ability to teach. Instead she blames the all the students.

I have two students at this school. Most of the teachers are amazing. What might be lacking in one classroom is definitely balanced out by others. Teachers balance curriculum with fun - art, music, PE, etc. What makes the school stand out is the community involvement. Parents and teachers work together to make the school experience great. The new principal works hard to keep students safe.

My school is Browns Valley Elementary and it is located in the Yuba Foothills. Our community is rural and have a rich agricultural history. Our kids continue to achieve very high test scores and are motivated to apply themselves toward extra curricular programs. Our teachers are not only involved in curriculum but strive hard to have creative art, special programs, and music lessons when available, they care about our children.

This school is a great. It has all the small town attributes with the curriculum of a large your only a number school. The parental involvement is by far the best. The PTA is very active in meeting the short falls of state funding to keep the extra stuff rolling. This school is amazing.

My daughter transferred to this school from out of state last year... We were excited about the class size and the small size of the school thinking it would mean better instruction. Boy were we wrong! The positives: class size was nice; the school's parent calling computer was very informative about school changes. The negatives: The teacher... The teacher was completely inappropriate for the age groups. During a school dance, the modern "hip-hop" music with lyrics more in line to a Friday night frat party were not appropriate for 4th graders. My daughter came home singing tunes about wanting to take a boy home and show him a good time brough fear to my face--apparently the teacher was teaching the song to the students so they could sing it to the kindergartners at a talent show. After talking to the teacher she agreed to change the song to "I love rock and roll." Better, but c'mon, shouldn't 4th graders sing something like "lollipop" to kindergartners. There were a few more instances... We transferred my daughter out.
