We are two years into Brookneal Elementary and it's getting worse and worse. My daughter isn't learning at the pace she was in her previous school. My daughter is now bullied on a regular basis. I've complained all the way to the principal but nothing is ever done. But by how they administration acts I'm not surprised they sit outside and make fun of parents and students alike for everyone in the drop off lines to hear. Absolutely a disgusting to see educators act in this way. We are relocating just so my kids go go to another school!!! If your child is different in any way this isn't the school for you!!!

This school has really gone down hill in the last few years. It went from being a very parent involved school to Principals on some sort of a High Horse look at me attitude. There's NEVER anyone hardly to answer the phones, nobody to answer the call bells when trying to pick your children up, a Secretary that sits there doing much of nothing, and a whole lot of playing favorites. There's no such thing as Parent Volunteers in the classes anymore as they tend to treat everyone who offers to help who have been in that school system for 20+ years as a Volunteer like we are problems. Parking situation is a major issue, and they are now blocking off a side street in order to load and drop kids mornings and evenings instead of pulling into the circle and using it the way it was made to be used, the children of Campbell County are suffering greatly in these small town schools that can't accommodate the children either with what they could have if they were in other counties. We have nothing here to offer the children like the larger cities do. We get the basic stuff and that is it. Cursive writing and teaching them how to "sign" their names is a thing of the past!

Serious lack of parking... School has it's own type of spelling program that is difficult for a transfer student from out of county to learn... Teachers and staff are friendly... Any parent involved assembly lasts way too long...
