My son is currently a 1st grader at Brookridge and also attended for kindergarten. He goes to the before and after care program run by the district on site as well. He is flourishing at this school, thanks to the committed educators and principal who is a strong leader and keeps safety a high priority. Brooklyn is a working class community and the families are friendly and genuine. I do think our school could improve with more involvement from parents; it would be nice to have a message board or facebook group to link families. We would also be interested in more after school activities, though many are offered through the city, we would enjoy using the school facilities for sports or other games as a way to meet other families. Overall, very happy here at Brookridge!

tell someoneMMy son has been going to this school since the 3rd grade and has nothing but problems. He was bullied for 2 yrs and when he went to tell someone they would tell him to stop lying. He was hospitalized in the beginning of the school year cause he had anxiety about going back to that school. Now he is in the fifth grade and seems like no on is helping him be successful. I am trying so hard to get him out of this school distict. I am so afraid for him,

This school is very biased, If your child is not a part of the majority (the largest ethnic group - caucasion) then I would not recommend it. My daughter is in kindergarten and has had a terrible year. We live in Brooklyn, but I have disenrolled her from Brooklyn schools and drive across to a school that treats all children the same and are concerned about the well being and academic growth and development of all children.

All three of my children attended Brooklyn Elementary school, and along time ago their father did, I only wish, I would have had a safe haven. Wonderful little middle class school right out side the inner city.
