School is horrible and students are not learning anything here. Students are running around throughout the day unattended and fighting. There is absolutely no consequences. I Do not recommend this school to anyone !

My children went to this school since PreK and had a great experience when the school had good leadership under Tuddor and Fishman, then Dalton was amazing with bringing grants and much needed supports. However, once Tucci took over, everything fell apart. She is a terrible leader and created many dangerous situations for my children and their friends. A year after Tuccis poor leadership caused a drop of like 200 students. No one I know will send their kids to 188 because kids are violent and the principal empowers their abuse by having lunch with the troublemakers. My daughter who has an IEP was denied counseling services for weeks, had only one teacher in her team teaching class for weeks, after her special education teacher quit. One day one of my daughter's teachers was sent on a professional development with a group of other teachers, and the principal did not assign a second teacher in the classroom, and to make matter more unsafe, she placed an extra group of students from another classroom (their teacher was also absent). My daughter came come with a two inch scratch across her right cheek, which she sustained in the classroom, caused by a boy placed in her classroom from the other class. This incident was reported to 311, the DOE, and nothing was done. I had to argue for a report to be filed, which took over a week. Tucci then tried to blame the parents for the scratch and said to me, 'how do I know that it didn't happen at home'. I was appalled by her lack of care about student safety. She is a poor leader who allows students to run around the school, hitting other students in the classroom and in the hallway, fabricates reports, and hides many incidents. She breaks IDEA Act and shows little care about special education students. The students in 188 deserve better than Tucci and Killelea.

My son is a student and I like this school. I wish parents would get more involved. I would recommend this school.
