This school is the best choice for Muslims, and attending here is a decision you won’t regret. The teachers across all grade levels are exceptional, kind, and excellent at teaching, while the principals are incredibly supportive. The food is top-notch, resembling restaurant-quality meals, and there are frequent bake sales offering a variety of treats like ice cream, snacks, and drinks. High school students also host fun events, including scavenger hunts and games. Lastly, the school provides opportunities like joining the National Honor Society (NHS), encouraging students to maintain strong academic performance.

My current experience at Al-Madinah School is on full of incredible learning, as well as a lot of fun. The school’s conditions are lovely and open for students to thrive in, and the curriculum is incredibly easy to follow. The islamic aspect, including Quran, Arabic and Islamic studies are very easy to understand, and spread out well over the course of the school year. The teachers here are great, incredibly understandable as well as understanding. All of this as well as the lovely, outstanding trips such as fun amusement parks or ice skating arenas tie this place all together in such a lovely way, and it’s a great place to learn, thrive, and have fun.

My son was a well adjusted, mature, confident 3yo when he entered. He was a tantrum throwing, grunting uncontrollably, inconsolable shell when we pulled him out after 6 months.His deen suffered as well. He loved praying and always gave salams. He stopped giving salams, because they only say "good morning" and "bye," even after the salaams were given. He stopped praying, because they didn't pray in school for his grade.The school said their focus is social emotional learning in 3K. However, they undid all of his SEL in a matter of months. They had students with special needs in his class, yet the teachers are untrained and ill-equipped to handle special needs children, which caused my child to suffer.We are 4 months removed from the school, and my sons loves praying and giv il ng salaams again. However, we are still struggling with his behavior and tantrums.I would recommend the school for an older child who has school experience, but definitely not for a new/first-time student.

2.5/10. Honestly middle school was horrible. Never knew that giving to the teachers of the school would just mean people cursing at t you. Yeah, I would literally give food to the teachers, some food that literally takes 40 minutes to make. My whole family would have to work for it. And yet some teachers would yell at me for not giving them or not giving it earlier to them or not going to them and giving it. I also caught them breaking my stuff on multiple occasions.

The school follows the Core Curriculum Standards. The curriculum is rigorous . The administration demands that their teachers prepare appropriate lessons and great care is given to differentiated instructions. Teachers have high expectations of their students. The climate in the school is friendly, open and welcoming. Teachers are understanding, patient and strive to support their student's individual needs. Students feel welcomed and are nurtured and encouraged to become active members of their community.

the majority of the comments that compliment the school are done by the principals.. My mother is a staff member who overheard them talking in the teachers lounge.

Hello everyone. I am a parent whose two children are enrolled in this school. My children were placed here after I removed them from public school. Therefore, this review will be based on my contrasting experiences with public school system of NYC and Al-Madinah. First of all, the reviews stating that instruction quality is poor in academics is completely false. EVERY single teacher there is competent in his or her subject. How do I know this? The school adheres to CCSS (common core state standards), the very ones teachers were applying in lessons in their former public school. Teaching is done with a purpose and goal. Homework is assigned almost every single night and the projects are rigorous. It is up to the *student* to apply him or herself, just like in anything else. I have sat in one classroom for instruction to observe the quality of the lesson before I admitted my children and it was comparable to the previous public school.

Second, the staff members are very kind, including the leadership that runs the school (principal, assistant principals). They hold themselves accountable when I call them or have a reasonable request I am following up on. I am not saying this is not happening in public schools but I want to make clear that the building is indeed run by professional staff. I am tired of others bashing this school. Ultimately, I have seen, it is up to my children to apply themselves under the guidance of their teachers. This is not merely a religion-first, academics-second, school. The Islamic studies are present in full force of course but I want parents like me to realize that the quality of education is on par with other institutions such as public schools.

worst school ever dont waste your time here your child can learn better at public school and for the islami quran and arabic put your child in weekend class in the masjid or you can find these courses online. public school are thousand time better. there stink in acadamics and relgious classes.they have teachers who just dont teach and dont know how to teach. and those teachers let their students cheat on the regents !

I truly like the Islamic Education and Quranic Studies at Al Madinah School. I believe that if my children were raised in my country they would not have received the same level of Islamic Education. Academics can be found at any school, but not any school can teach Islam. My four children have excelled throughout their education in Al Madinah School without any efforts from me.

Excellent school. Strong Principal leadership as well as great quality of teachers . I have 1 5th grader and 2 pre K children in the school. Amazing within one month of attending my 4 year olds are speaking Arabic and some Spanish, as well as identifying English and Arabic letters, numbers and words. Couldn't be more pleased. The school, teaches the children respect and discipline. And most important, the children enjoy going to school they have fun learning.
