My family was discriminated against on several occasions during our time at this school. When My child struggled with the curriculum, She was not supported and was often told that she wasn't trying enough. When I asked for extra support, I was denied and told that my child was not trying enough. I was told to get a tutor, which the school took some time to implement. The teacher returned a few months after my child's grades did not improve and finally offered extra support, but my child had fallen so far behind. My child often felt targeted and described a time when her teacher snatched a pen out of her hand. If you have a child with special needs, this is not the school for you. My child would come home and tell me that her teacher doesn't like her and treats her differently from the other students. My child was bullied, and when I contacted the school, it was initially dismissed. Communications from the teacher would often lack empathy, given the circumstances of a child who is being bullied, feels she is being targeted, and is struggling with the curriculum,

My third grader has been coming home with hours of homework, has to prepare for exams, and has honestly developed anxiety about school. The environment amongst families is fake nice because everyone is competing with each other. In my honest opinion, there is nothing happening here that constitutes the exorbitant tuition. We cannot wait to be done at the end of this school year.

Excellent school, my older son loves the staff, other students and facilities. Academics are best in the state. My younger son has special needs and I send him to public school because they have more resources and experience to accommodate him.

This is an excellent school that has been extremely supportive of my daughter’s education. We couldn’t be happier with her teachers and curriculum. She loves the school and, even though only having completed Junior year of high school, gotten an offer of admission to a top 10 engineering school. Can’t say enough good things about her experience.

If you have ADHD this school is not for you. I was told many times that if I “applied myself” I would reach my full potential. However, why would I apply myself to learning Latin when I could apply myself to learning useful life skills, or anything else? I think I made honorable mention once at BA. After BA, I went to public school and that was honestly one of the best choices I made, so many lovely teachers and opportunities. That being said, I graduated high school with honors. However, being told that I wasn’t working hard, or reaching my “full potential” when I was clearly trying… hurt. I think I had one teacher in that whole school who didn’t make me feel incapable and I’m very thankful for that person. Brookfield Academy also has a habit of handing out detentions when you forget textbooks, homework, your parents signature, etc so instead of asking “hmmm why is this student in detention a lot?” They just kept placing me in detention for being forgetful. Did detention help, no. I still forgot everything. I have ADHD, a highly heritable disorder characterized by a dopamine deficiency that makes it extremely difficult to function on a daily basis. On top of that, I have a learning disability (known commonly as dyslexia) that impacts my reading comprehension. Not one teacher noticed that I was struggling to keep up. I had a lot of self doubt, maladaptive thinking patterns, and that ultimately led to me thinking “not very good thoughts” about myself and my self worth.Fast forward a few years, I am an undergraduate in a program that is in the top 10 in the nation. I realize we live in a world where everything is “who do my parents know '' and would love to emphasize that I did this myself, with help and support from people around me. Which makes all the difference for someone like me. Adding on, there are some absolute brats in this schools student population. Very clique-y and very “mean girl” for no utter reason. Teachers tend to also entertain those types of students the most. I don’t know how, but please teach kids how no one cares who their parents are or what they own. I swear so many people are materialistic and have a paper brown bag as a personality.

We are nothing but grateful for the education our children have and are receiving at Brookfield Academy. Our 3 graduates have all graduated in a great spot - not only academically but also healthy emotionally and mentally. They head off to college with far less baggage and a stronger sense of who they are than I ever had. For that, we are truly grateful. We love Brookfield Academy!

Our three children have been at BA since Level A. We currently have one graduate and two in the Upper School. We have been extremely happy overall with BA. Most importantly it has taught our children to think for themselves and master their work. I have been so impressed with the retention of their learning. We feel our children have and will be more than ready for college and life.

I would rate it as the absolute worst 4 years of my entire life. It was a living nightmare. Never, ever send your child here.

My education and the life skills I learned at Brookfield Academy were an integral part of my success in college. I was challenged on a daily basis and therefore I learned the importance of a strong work ethic. The teachers want their students to succeed and put in extra time and effort to make this happen. Because the class sizes are relatively small, students learn to get along with one another regardless of their background.

We have found Brookfield Academy to be an exceptional school environment for our three students. Our 9th, 7th and 4th graders have been at the school just under two years, and we have found that BA lives it's mission. The focus is on academics, building strong individuals with integrity and character, and setting high expectations for all students. The staff is highly engaged, and the curriculum has both breadth and depth to inspire and teach on multiple fronts.

Nothing but praises and accolades do I have for Brookfield Academy. I am a graduate and alum of this school. College for me was a breeze, thanks to the preparation I received while attending Brookfield Academy. Now, as a parent of a current scholar of this school, I can be quite involved with her success. My child LOVES her school and is highly motivated to do her best, thanks in part to the optimistic and highly encouraging staff. I must say, it feels so good to be back on campus and be an integral part of my child's success at Brookfield Academy!!

My kids recently finished 1st and 4K and we couldn’t be happier with our experience of the school. The teachers were wonderful-easy to communicate with and very welcoming to my sensitive kiddos. We like the small class sizes and the amount of recess and specials they have. I love the fact that my kids know everyone in their class and even lots of kids in other grades. There has not been an excessive amount of technology use for the kids which we were very happy about. You do not need a computer to do homework in the primary school. Homework is short and sweet and I like the fact that I get to see what the kids are learning every day. Keeps me in the loop and I can easily communicate with teachers if there’s a problem getting it done. It’s amazing how much my kids have learned and have loved doing it.

My son entered BA at the third grade level. Before this, he attended Montessori, where he chose to spend his time doing yoga. Then, he moved to a religious day school, learning about God. Then, he went to public school, where there are too many students to one teacher and constant bullying by other students was being missed. We finally found BA! It gave him the structure that he needed. He knew what was expected of him and took responsibility for his grades. The teachers brought him up to speed on his reading level and he is now an avid reader!!! He went from being 50% spelling to the honor roll! BA raised the bar for my son and my son chose to meet those goals; like every kid can if given the proper opportunity for a great education. He has also enjoyed playing drums, basketball, the arts, and tennis at BA which helps him to be more well rounded.BA has been a blessing and is a second home for my son - a place where he feels like he belongs.

More than a decade after leaving Brookfield Academy, I've found that much of what I learned there has not stood the test of time. The good: They instill self-discipline and (some) intellectual curiosity. The bad: The way they teach their values promotes bigotry. The "heritage" component of the curriculum is at, best, parochialism and, at worst, intolerance of different races, religious views, etc. Period and end of story. My recommendation is they find staff and leadership who have experienced different cultures (I don't know, like maybe people who have ever left the state of Wisconsin?!) and they teach staff and leadership to ease up on the "heritage" agenda. BA is far from welcoming, unless you look and act like a "classic" i.e. white, preppy and peppy southeast Wisconsin person (which I did, so I was fine.) While I didn't really bully kids, I regret that I went along with a culture where intolerance of difference was tolerated and celebrated. I had to unlearn a lot of what I learned at BA in order to be able to live with myself as a I aged.

The school claims to prepare students for "college and life". They only care about grades and their reputation. They only care about the money. I've learned a lot from this institution, but came out of it stressed and anxious. I experience nervousness from the teachers and the principal. They do not dicipline their students well enough, as I exepirence major bullying that the teachers do not care about. The principal and High-Ranks there are extremely arrogant. They want to enforce their dress-code so well that they can't let someone who wants to dress like a boy or girl, ect wear what the dress-code says that gender can wear, and they are the opposite gender. They will still have the students wear the stuff to their gender. This is basically discrimination. They have no health education, little to none arts education, lack in engineering and technology, lack in coopoerate buisness expeirence. This school clearly does not prepare students for life. Compared to the tuition amount, it's not worth the expensive money. There are better public schools out there. Do not send your child here, until they change their operations.

I go to school here, and I think it is the best school out there. I do not experience any bullying here, and I enjoy everything. The teachers are very helpful, and they care for your well-being. They care if you don't understand the concept, and they try to help you as much as possible. The food is great, but you have to pay for it. The sports program is great, and I found so much joy from the basketball program.

Brookfield Academy does an outstanding job preparing students for the real world, and the academics are absolutely phenomenal. It is easy to fall victim to misconceptions, which is why it is easy for those who aren't vigilant to the truly incredible values Brookfield Academy teaches their students to say it is an arrogant community. Every student has an equal opportunity to succeed and grow as a student and the staff is like a family. The community is close and is always welcoming.

Brookfield academy claims to prepare students for life but all they really care about is their graduation percentage. No school counselor. No health education. No support for marginalized students. Little to no arts education. As a student I learned a great deal but came out of this institution with major mental health problems. They put way too much pressure on academic success and pit students against each other to fight for top of the class. I was very disillusioned and stopped caring about my grades because I felt I would never measure up. This school needs to learn to emotionally support students. So many students are suffering from mental health issues and bullying is a persistent problem. Don't send your child here until they change how they operate.
