Very good school, there was order in the neighborhood, unfortunately they closed it and now they put a Charter School which is a complete mess, the parents come to drop off/pick up the students by car and create tremendous traffic, they block the driveways and are rude when someone ask them to move their cars. Many of them come with loud music in their cars in the mornings. They do not respect the neighborhood to which they do not belong. Lousy decision to put that Charter school here. People in the neighborhood disagree, we have PS56 and it does not show that parents disorder.

I rated like an excellent school. My son was student since kindergarten to 8th school our experience was very good. I feel my son learned a lot and St. Brendan help him to have a good academic base for his future academically speaking. Teacher are strict and full of acknowledge. During his 9 yrs in St. Brendan we never had a bully incident or disciplinary , the environment very family oriented of course any other hiccups occurred but nothing major. As a parent I am glad to chose St. Brendan for my son Elementary and Middle school.

My son graduated in 2007 ,he went on to Fordham Prep. Graduated in 2011 and went on to Manhattan College. He received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering in 2015, and is finishing his Masters in Mechanical Engineering in 2017. All this was possible with his education that began at St. Brendan's.

Our daughter graduated last June,2013 . She had a great education made good friends in all grades. Teachers are awesome and fair. Although I would have liked to have evening meetings with teachers, afternoons are not always a good time for everyone when picking up report cards. The pariah priest is great if your child's doing their sacraments there, very involved.

BEST SCHOOL EVER!!! I'm so sad i'm graduating this year though I'm happy they have provided me with the best education possible. Way better than St. Ann school nearby. The uniform is fine, the students are respectable, and the teachers are really dedicated to what they do. They even use their lunch breaks and after school to tutor students who want to do better. --Sharifah -Class of 2012

I have been in this school since Pre-K (10 years!) and I will be graduating this year. I feel that St. Brendan is a very caring, close school. The teachers know everyone and try to help us out with anything they can. The students are close and feel like a family. St. Brendan is an amazing place and I have learned a lot in my ten years here. I'm going to miss it.

St. Brendan is an excellent school. I have been going here for years and I just love it. There is an amazing faculty that always tries to help out whenever there is a problem with the students. The students are respectful and caring towards each other. A great focus on work that pressures us to do our best. Smart boards in nearly every room. There are always activities going on such as basketball games, bake sales, seasonal music shows, and the possibility of a new softball team this spring. It's just a loving, caring environment in which students are allowed to grow and make new friends. I love St. Brendan.

I've went to this school since kindergarten, I am now preparing to graduate. At Brendan's, they truly push you to succeed. You feel at home. The teachers care about you. The students form close bonds. It's a home away from home. It's hard to leave. The school has Smartboards in about every room. The music, art, and computer programs are excellent. There are no fights. I haven't witnessed one in all my years at St. Brendan's. I have many family members who have went to this school. The neighborhood is good for being in the Bronx. The older children (6th-8th) switch classes. The younger children are well taken care of. The school has many activities. The principal knows everyone's name, and is very active in school life. They have in-school tutoring for the slower children. The teachers make sure you truly understand something before moving on. The school has counselors for the students to reach out to whenever. I speak for my fellow classmates when I say this school is truly a work of art.

As a parent, I am very happy with St. Brendan School. My older children did very well here and went on to high school on scholarship, then to college on scholarships. I still have a child attending St. Brendan and is also excelling academically. St. Brendan's currently has a Smartboard in nearly every classrooom, an art, computer, and music programs which a lot of schools no longer have.

I'm not happy with St. Brendan's at all. I'm pulling my kids out of the school at the end of the school year. I just recently learned that St. Brendans was a title 1 school. My daughter (an honor student) was assigned to a program because she scored low on the state exam. My question is how does a child who maintains a 98 average score a 2 ( on a 1-4 grading system) on the state exam. The school has class sizes that are too large (34 kids in a grade with one teacher), classes that are being taught by teachers who are not certified, art teachers who hold full conversations in the halls; taking away from the children's art time, teachers that talk about each other in front of the kids, and teachers who just don't care about the students. There are teachers there who are great, but they teach the 7th and 8th grade classes.
