Children are uneducated and misbehaving. The learning environment is completely destroyed.

My daughter is now a seventh grader at Ben Franklin, and we love it! The teachers really go the extra mile for the students, working together with an open-door policy for the betterment of all. There are lots of extra-curricular clubs, both at lunchtime and after school, most of which are mentored by teachers not for money, but for the love of the students. The administration welcomes parent participation, and it has the most active PTSA of any middle school in the District. Every teacher my daughter has had here has been top-notch, something I can't say for our experiences at other schools. If you value a tight-knit community, this is the school for you!

School is a more close-knit community with wonderful teachers who care about you and understand that middle school can be a tough time

When we moved here, I decided to NOT pay attention to the test score reviews but instead the parent reviews. We picked Ben Franklin because of the wonderful things parents had to say about the school. We've been here for a year now and we could not be more please. Our kids are thriving, they have real friends who are good influences on them and their teachers clearly care about their well-being as well as their education. They bend over backwards to help our kids be the best that they can be. If a teacher is out sick, the principal and the vice principal will happily step in and sub a classroom as needed. We have a daughter with a 504 plan and I could not be more pleased with the treatment we're getting from Ben Franklin staff. They go above and beyond the call of duty and they really do enjoy watching our children thrive. Students who attended Ben Franklin 20+ years ago come back to bring their kids to this school because it's been that excellent for that long. I take comfort in knowing that even though the test scores may not be 10/10, they strive to help kids do their best, in everything. Test scores don't tell the full story and if that's all you're interested in, this isn't the school for you. If you want a place where your kid is safe, happy and well rounded, this is the school you want your kids to attend.

Excellent teachers and admnistrators. The school is safe and the students seem to embrace the idea of community.

Ben Franklin has been a wonderful school for my child. The physical education program cannot be matched, the high expectations and "shape days" have helped my child's fitness. The core classes challenged my child and allowed her to succeed. The band program is the best I have seen in a middle school setting. Teachers are available for conferencing. Parent involvement is low.

I love this school! The students are well-behaved and the teachers are committed and caring. It is a safe place to learn. If I had kids, I would send them here. Also, the school has great after-school programs like Citizen Schools. Other schools in the area don't have this program so we are lucky!

Horrible safety and discipline system. Lot's of bullys. Some drug selling last year. They don't punish bullys that much. I seen a guy got more than 10 referrals and he still walking around the school bullying people. I mean he should be expelled. Why would you let a kid like that stay at our school. It use to be a safe school. I just don't know what happen.

My children are graduating in ('10). The principal is very in tune with the students. The teachers have helped my kids keep their focus and grades up (straight A's). The honor's English and honor's Math is very good and helped my children get into a college prep private high school. Unfortunately, there is very little parent involvment. The same 5-10 parents show up to every event with a student body of over 400. If more parents were involve the student body would thrive. Very sad! I found this school to be a safe environment and no bullying. My kids were not part of a click either. Go Falcons!
