I was a current student in FC Reed and I would not recommend this school. In my time at this school I had not seen the pretty FC Reed that everyone sees it as. I was bullied multiple times and I went to trusted facility members and nothing was done. I was the one being told to stop being dramatic. I was bullied so much that my parents had got very involved. Did anything happen, no. While the bullying goes on, Vaping and drugs were done through the school. Students learned how to get around the vape detectors and were not stopped. Another thing is if your child has asthma I would not recommend this school. I have been diagnosed with asthma. This may be seen as normal but teens would spray perfume and cologne all throughout the hallways while people who suffer from asthma had to deal with the fumes. I had to deal with this. It has gotten so bad with the sprays that I missed three days of school because I couldn't breath. Teachers sprayed aerosol which even worsend the problem. Nothing was done to stop perfume and cologne spraying after so many complaints from many families. Another thing I would like to point out is the way the teachers treated the students. One teacher body shamed a kid in my class and nothing was done. Teachers would even say how certain classes were horrible and how it's our faults that there day was ruined. There is so much more this school has done that has been covered by the academic success. I would not recommend this school for you child.

I can't honestly recommend F.C. middle school to any one, and especially to family's with children of color, white children are prioritize and given better opportunitys over minorities and that's ashame. Other schools in the area are more equality diversified.

As a current student in this school, I absolutely do not recommend it. Some teachers are really fun and make it engaging but others have been plain out rude. The school does not do anything for bullying or mental health. Multiple students have told teachers that they don’t have enough time to do all the homework the teachers assign in 8th grade but the only response they get is “Just make time, get off your social media.” When most of the time it’s stuff we can’t just quit such as clubs and sports. The only consequence teachers will give the bullies are things such as ssl which does nothing as other students have seen students talking to each other and playing games while in ssl. Kids are doing illegal things in the restrooms constantly such as drugs. They have ways to hide it even with the said “Vape and yelling detectors”. Which by the way do not work. Students are always doing drugs, bullying, teasing. Nothing kind comes out of this school. The racism and homophobia is completely horrible. The deadnaming and rumors are sickening. Students are forced to come out to peers to try to get them to stop with the homophobia but they never do. A student should never be forced to come out. Please just try to listen to your kids if they are enrolled here at Fc. Reed. It’s not worth it to let your kid suffer like I, a current student is.

It's a great school system. My wish is that they would move faster at things to keep up with the evolving things kids are getting into. They listen amd seem supportive but I do feel they could do alot more for the bullying. I have been in other school systems and comparing fc reed to them is why I rate it so high. The community as a whole is laid back. There hasn't been anything that I have asked the school help for that has been ignored. Most of all the super intended is phenomenal and approachable. The same as the principals.

My school is F.C. Reed Middle School in Bridgman Mi. I can actually say that Bridgman does a LOT to cover itself to protect their image. I have noticed a number of things being swept under the rug for this protection from public views to keep their image outstanding with the state as well. I do not recommend this school to a parent that is not willing to keep up with their student daily, there are a lot of things that go on in this school that should not be approved of. The school board consist of the same people that do the sweeping under the rug, as well as administration.
