My son attended Pinnacle for five years, after experiencing several schools that ranged from horrendous to just not a good fit. Pinnacle was where my son found his home, Pinnacle provided him with a nurturing environment, and provided him with the tools both personally and academically for him to be the best of himself.

I have mixed reviews for this school. Our child has Asperger's and is pretty high functioning. The first year or two he flourished at Pinnacle. That being said, the school has shifted its focus away from academics to concentrate more on executive function (they even sent home a letter outlining this shift). They also seem to be taking on more severe cases of autistic children. Combine these two factors and the result is a serious decrease in academic instruction which leaves the higher functioning kids frustrated because the teachers are too busy dealing with the the behavioral issues of the more severe autistic children. Pinnacle is not what it used to be.

Our daughter thrived at Pinnacle Academy in Lakewood Ranch, FL. She has multiple learning challenges and her teachers and the administration have always been more than willing to help in every way possible to make her education all it can be. She has grown leaps and bounds academically, for sure; but also emotionally and socially. She was encouraged and supported to the fullest extent to reach beyond goals she set for herself. We will always be grateful to Pinnacle Academy Administration, Teachers, and Staff for everything they have done specifically for our daughter and our family in general!

Unfortunately, each time any negative post is submitted for this school on this website, it is removed. I'm not sure how or why, but it is concerning.

My son was diagnosed with Asperger's when he was nine. He was in public school system and was failing nearly every class, and the FCAT. They wanted to promote him to the next grade. That was five years ago. My son is now a highly functional teenager who is getting mostly A's and B's. This would have never happened without Pinnacle. It is not for students with behavior problems. That is not tolerated. This is a serious school for children on the spectrum who need help learning new behaviors that don't come naturally to them. In the summit program, they are also serious about academics. Pinnacle was recently accredited so that the teens can actually graduate with a regular high school diploma. The teachers are fantastic and completely dedicated to the children. While no program can ever "fix" a child, Pinnacle has provided a great environment where children can learn and become productive members of society. We're even starting to look at college, learning to drive, and life beyond school.
