I currently work at Sacajawea middle school since November of 2014, to current. I have done so much for the school since I have been hired, met many teachers,people,students,coaches,parents.Mostly are nice people, fun to be around. I enjoyed working around all of them. There could be better situations for working at the school, including the management treatment which is terrible in terms of treating their custodians, and only wanting full control which really seems like slavery in away. The custodians do their best to make the school healthy and presentable for the public and yet they receive the least respect from the management which only cares about full control. We had few head custodians during the past years of my work, who only reflected what their managers wanted them to do, in 2016, the head custodian that worked at the school for over two years, she treated the custodians in a very unprofessional way, made our job as miserable as possible, later she resigned, currently they hired a new head custodian, who absolutely knows nothing about this job besides the fields mowing and snow plowing, he constantly interferes with our work. During the summer we start working from 6 in the morning until 2:30 in the afternoon. Last week I came to work as usual and shortly after he came and began yelling at me, and raised his voice in a bossy abusive way .I met with our school principal, and I was shocked that the principal supported him and his actions 100 percent. He told me that this is the way it’s supposed to be, and that the head custodian should treat us like that, and can do whatever he wants! He has full authority .In our school. There have been many custodians who went through the same treatment and later resigned. Honestly and apparently they cannot keep any custodians there, therefore we always have vacancies for custodians.

My son loves Sacajawea! He is in 6th grade and excited for each day. His teachers are amazing. I feel informed and kept in the loop. I feel like they really care about him.

I have had 3 kids in this school. Just had an 8th grader leave and a 6th grader enter 2014/15. THERE IS NO BETTER SCHOOL IN ALL OF BOZEMAN!! They actually care about the kids and not just their scores!! The way they positively support your children's academic, social and emotional needs is beyond comparison. They truly listen to parent concerns and form teams of support quickly to address problems! Gordon Grissom and the entire staff is the best I've ever seen and I've been in Bozeman School systems for 14 years! Me and my children are breathing a sigh of relief!! THANKS YOU SMS!!!!

The school is amazing! I was a 6th grader last year and i had the best time of my life! All of the teachers are amazing! The teachers are always willing to take some of their free time to help you out with whatever you need! The staff is very supportive! The school is so much fun! There is a special bond between every kid and teacher! They make school fun by passing a football around the class room, having snowball fights, and water fights and yet they get everything done so that kids can get A's on all their tests! I never knew that you could have so much fun in school and yet learn so much at the same time!

I'm just blown away by this school! My son is a 6th grader and I was more than worried about the jump to middle school! The teachers TRULY care about these kids, they really are "their" kids. My son actually likes going to school and he is learning so much. Every single subject he has improved since 5th grade. If you are trying to decide between the 2 public middle schools, SMS, in my opinion is your best choice.

i am a 6th grader at SMS and i love the place. it has a very great school that has great school leadership and a very nice principal.the place is filled to the brim with nice students just waiting to be your friend!there are clubs too!like the lego robotics club, the computer club, the yearbook club, the art club, and a lot more! see you at SMS!
