We love University Hill Elementary! We love the diversity, and the amazing community. Because it is a 100% open enrollment school, everyone chooses to be there. It's a tight-knit community, and has a long, and strong connection to Boulder. Our kids are in 2nd and 4th grades. We did not speak spanish at home, but our kids are doing amazing with spanish! Mom can get by, and the kids now ask to speak in spanish at home.

We moved from out of state 3 years ago and when we found that UH was a 50-50 bilingual program we didn't want to look further. Not only is the program excellent, but my kids (now 8 and 10) love going to school, made terrific friends (and us, the parents too!) and love being challenged. UH is a special school in the BVSD district as families choose to go here (open enrollment), they come from different neighborhoods, and different socio-economic backgrounds, also we found diversity in this school which Boulder is not known for. The new Principal (2023) is someone who comes from within the school, and understand the need of the community having been a teacher there before gives her the perspective from that angle too. In short, we highly recommend this school!

Our family has had a wonderful experience at Uni Hill Elementary. I currently have a 2nd grader and a 7th grader. The 7th grader went on to middle school after Uni Hill very well prepared for the transition and for his next chapter. The teachers and administration are highly qualified and dedicated to their students and school community. The new principal has brought a new energy and fresh perspective this year. There is a strong sense of community and exciting cultural diversity that augment the stellar bilingual/biliterate education. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide our kids with a bilingual elementary education that shall benefit them for their whole life. Such a unique experience in the public school sector.

Love Uni Hill. The parents, community, dedication of the staff. We have two kids at Uni Hill and they come home every day telling us how much they love school. Garden time, field trips, bilingual education, diversity in an otherwise homogenous school district--rare treasure in Boulder. Teachers and Principal Mayorvy are all responsive, carrying, engaged. Couldn't be happier.

This school is a joke, and their principal does not support the teaching staff. BVSD does a great job of recycling teachers, as a method of controlling costs. You think your kids are getting a good education, but look elsewhere. For a district that touts itself as one of the best, it's not. Other local districts invest long-term in their teaching staff. Also, why does the administration feel it's critical to discuss gender identity in our son's classroom? He literally came home more confused than anything. I have also heard first hand from teaching staff at this school that the current principle is a pot-head. Go figure.

We have two kids at Uni Hill and they both love it. They like their teachers, have lots of friends and are learning a second language. We've always had great relationships with their teachers. The after school classes are really impressive!

Uni Hill is a fantastic elementary school. An obvious benefit to the school is the dual-language program. Less obvious benefits are the close community feel, fantastic teachers, and an amazing principal.

Ina is a awful principle and we quickly pulled our children out.

We couldn't be happier at Uni Hill. The teachers are supportive and enthusiastic and the principal is amazing. Our kids are extremely happy here.

This hands off approach to learning is terrible. The teachers hardly make an effort to verify the material they are sharing is actually retained. I have no idea why this school is still around.
