Woodmoor school is an excellent elementary school that fosters a warm and nurturing environment for young learners. The teachers are dedicated, approachable, and skilled at making learning engaging and fun. The school emphasizes not only academics but also personal growth, creativity, and collaboration. Its well-rounded curriculum, coupled with extracurricular activities, ensures that children develop holistically. The facilities are well-maintained, and the school prioritizes safety and inclusivity. Overall, it’s a great place for kids to learn, grow, and thrive.

My son is one of the lucky students who gets to attend Woodmoor's special education pre-school in conjunction with Sorenson Early Learning center. He has been making such emotional and physical progress since he has started and is so excited to attend this year again as they prep him for Kindergarten. The support team including his speech pathologist and teachers really are an incredible advocate for him. We have been so impressed by the care and professionalism of both the Woodmoor and Sorenson teams as they develop an IEP and development plan for our son. We of course wish that the program was not just half-days (it's hard as working parents to manage that) but our son is thriving for sure. The classroom (3 adults to under 12 students) and specialist care he has received has been top-notch. Since we are a pre-school family we don't get to participate in the family night events, but they seem to have a lot for engagement! We'll be sad when our boy transitions to our neighborhood elementary school for kindergarten, but we don't doubt he will be prepared.

My daughter has been going to Woodmore since Kindergarten and currently moving to third grade. She loves the school, teachers and the community. Their emphasis on SWIM rules also help develop the students to show respect, be inclusive and Work hard. The teacher parent connection is also very good that we get individual care and attention for our daughter.

Our daughter is starting 3rd grade. She is so excited to go back to school and keeps asking how many more days until school begins. Every time we’ve been to the building, every staff member we’ve encountered greets our daughter by name. Kids are friendly and inclusive - we’ve been amazed at how well our shy kid has become integrated in the school community and adores her teachers and friends there.

My kids have both had great educational experiences at Woodmoor, currently in 4th and 8th grade. My kids could not be more different academically, one with a learning disability, one in full high-cap. The educators went above and beyond to meet their diverse needs. Woodmoor is unique in their celebration of diversity because it was originally built as a "special school". While the "neighborhood school" has always existed, historically the large special education program has created an atmosphere of acceptance and celebration of differences.

Woodmoor has been our family, neighborhood school since my son was in Kindergarten. Students at Woodmoor are surrounded by teachers, staff and administrators who work to make a difference both academically and social emotionally, each and everyday. We are so grateful to be a part of such an amazing community.

Woodmoor has far exceeded my expectations based on its scores. I don’t believe these scores matter nearly as much as what I’ve witnessed as a parent of 2 students here and have heard from numerous neighbors with students (past and present) at the school as well. The teachers are actively engaged and passionate about teaching and helping kids reach their potential. I’ve never encountered teachers that were as invested in the kids succeeding as the parents (and even more so sometimes). This is a fantastic school in a great district. Don’t let these scores fool you into thinking otherwise. The kids love going to school and are developing a real passion for learning that sets them up well for middle, high school and beyond.

My daughter has been attending Woodmore elementary over the last year and has a great learning experience. The student teacher connection is great and they partner with parents in the learning process. They make sure to give individual attention to the kids and their learning levels. Take care of student safety and also bring a personal connection with the families. She is progressing well in academics.

I've found many of the teachers and staff to be fabulous and really dedicated. There is great diversity in the student population which I appreciate having my children exposed to. The presence of the Special Ed kids also makes for many opportunities for kids to learn to accept and celebrate differences. The principal however lacks the personality to turn this very large school into a true community. She is controlling, superficial, and more concerned about her image and maintaining power than serving the needs of parents or children. Don't expect her to go out of her way to problem solve or help you.

We have had children at Woodmoor over the past seven years. The teachers, administrative staff and support staff are all fantastic. It is a larger school, but they make all the students feel special and at home. We appreciate the diversity and opportunities our children have had as students at Woodmoor.

I agree with the prior reviews. Excellent principal and staff. My daughter's second grade teacher is outstanding. I can tell simply by her progress and enthusiasm. I do not need to encourage her to do homework. There is also tremendous parental involvement. I realize a score of 8/10 is given, and perhaps that has to do with slightly lower average test scores, but that does not reflect the quality of education here.

Quality Excellent Very happy with this school. We have 2 children attending this school, a regular 3rd grader and 2nd grader with Autism. The Principal and the staff are extremely close to the kids and the families! Great communication! The program for children with special needs is really good, much better than the program we previously did in Newport Elementary in Bellevue, Wa. The Children with special needs have swimming classes once a week, as part of their program! Angela Kerr The Principal and her assistant truly understand that the teachers make the programs happen. Their success is in big part due to the great team work they have at Woodmoor Elementary! This is really a great school!
