I must admit that things are great with my youngest child attending this school. I wish I could say the same for my oldest. My daughter has been bullied by a classmate and received referrals for defending herself, we are not notified when she has gotten hurt on the playground so bad she was bleeding and not sent to the nurse, she has somehow lost her lunchbox and 4 jackets all with her name and none have been recovered. There is little to no communication with her teacher accept when it seems there is something negative to say about my child. No uplifting or encouragement from the educators that are surrounding her. It feels as if they only see her disability. I have not seen many reviews for this school since 2023, why?? Are there other parents that feel like they were just passing your child along due to special needs? Not only that, it was like pulling teeth to get them to even establish an IEP last year and it still doesn't seem like they're really teaching my daughter or helping her like they should. My child deserves the same education as everyone else. Regardless of her special needs. Every child deserves a great education, EVEN MINE.

I’ve sent all four of my kids here. Best public elementary in the area that’s not a magnet! While no school staff is perfect our kids have excelled @ WT. From the principal to the janitor the school’s culture is top notch. Great attitudes!

I am proud to say my kids went to this school. My youngest is in her final year of elementary and has been a student at WT. Lewis since Kindergarten. My oldest two (now in HS) also attended this school with great results. WT. Lewis is academically advanced and the school's principal & staff are doing a good at building a community that involves all students and parents. We have one child with food allergies and that has been accommodated, and we had one child who needed academic help due to severe ADHD and learning disability and this was also taken care of. Overall, a great school and one of the reasons we bought a home in this school district.

This is the worst experience for a child or parent to endure I will NEVER not would have EVER during our time here recommend this school to another person for their child. We have yet to receive help with our child's learning disability. We are also a military family and have recieved nothing but trouble in our child's learning. As their first year in a real school they have been traumatized.

My boys went to this school for 4 yrs. When we moved here, they were moving from schools that were behind in academics and the teachers went out of their way to help them catch up. We loved all of the teachers and staff at this school. I would definitely recommend it.

My child has attended this school since kindergarten and we are yet to get a teacher that me or my child has not loved. The teachers and principle here are very good with their kids and make them feel welcomed. The only MINOR problem I have had with WT Lewis, is with a office worker. She at times doesn't seem very friendly and will speak to parents like they are a child, and has made me feel like I'm bothering her multiple times with my questions or concerns.... BUT, my child loves her and said she is very nice when they are sick and wait to be picked up by parent.. definitely not anything major enough to keep me from a 5 star review. I definitely recommend WT Lewis to anyone searching for a good school.

This school IS minority friendly. I have 2 children enrolled at W.T. Lewis that are "non-Caucasian". They have been accepted and treated the same as the Caucasian children. I think it is highly unfair to say they chose children for certain activities based on race. The fact is this school is over 75% Caucasian so of course there will be mostly Caucasian students participating in various curricular and extra curricular actives. If your children went to a school where the "Non-Caucasian" children were a minority then there wouldn't be as many Caucasian children involved in activities, ect. I think the previous statements were racist and uneducated, and I hope you do tell your children they are being discriminated against. I hope that you teach your children fairness and love for all races. God Bless.

I certainly agree with a previous post that this is not a great school for minority kids. My daughter often tried to participate in plays, cheer and other activities that required selection by teachers. She met qualifications for all activities; however, according to one teacher "she was not mature enough". She also stated that she hope that my child could learn how to handle these type of situations in the future better. My daughter was disappointed and she says something as stupid as this. She was only in 3rd grade at the time. I contacted her to ask her what was the reason she was not selected because she met all qualifications and that is when she said she was not mature enough. Really!! The cheer team is all white of course and it is disgusting that the administration thinks this is ok. As the previous parent stated if you questioned the teachers about your child the teachers get upset. Sometimes they might have ONE minority in a event to try to make it look good. They know how to put on a good fake smile but their true thoughts show in their actions. Great school for non-minorities but not for minorities, just the way they want it. Politics are heavy here!

This is our second year at W.T. Lewis and we couldn't be happier with the teachers and the staff. They have gone above and beyond to make sure that my daughter is getting the education that she needs. With the school expansion happening this summer and added classrooms, this school will be #1 in Bossier parish again next year!

This is by far one of the best Elementary schools in Bossier City. When I re-located I was very excited to find another high performing, award winning school. The office staff was very friendly when I walked in to get information but wait don t judge a book by its cover! At W.T. Lewis you will soon learn that your child MUST be the majority(Race)in order to succeed. My daughter went from being asked to participate in different educational functions(at previous school)to being told she s an average student(at W.T. Lewis). And don t dare show concern for your child and schedule meetings because the teachers will treat you as if you are an inconvenience to their day.To make matters even worse, one of the staff members asked me if we would be returning for the next school year. When I stated no she asked why so I told her,and she stated to me that she had heard the same reason from other non-Caucasian parents that pulled their children from the school. So yes,for the 80% of children that the school staff welcomes, this is an awesome school. But if your child is not Caucasian,I would advise you to save yourself the time and frustration you will be faced with at this school and look elsewhere.
