Hendrix is a school like no other. When my daughter enters the building all she sees are smiles and all she hears are good mornings and we are so glad that you are here today. She loves going to school and I love sending her to Hendrix. The atmosphere at this school is like no other atmosphere you will find at any other school. She is loved and respected. She feels safe and is safe at Hendrix. Hendrix is a family. The academics are top notch. Teachers work tirelessly making sure that every student is learning to their full potential. There are great academic supports in place for every child, from children who have disabilities to children who are gifted and talented. Parents are highly encouraged to be involved in every area of their child’s education. My daughter loves all of the extracurricular activities. These activities include dance and Spanish. Hendrix embraces the whole child and this school is making a huge difference in the life of my daughter.

I would never have my children in any other place. We love Hendrix. You can feel it is different the moment you walk in the doors. The staff is inviting, kind, caring, and compassionate. Teachers make learning fun while holding students to high expectations. We love the diversity and opportunities to learn more about different cultures. One of our favorite events is the Family Fiesta. With the IB philosophy, Hendrix is growing internationally minded students who will change the world. Hendrix is a hidden jewel!

Hendrix Elementary is a place where I feel that I never had to worry about the academics or the safety of my children. Teachers and staff were always pleasant to speak with and addressed any questions that I had. In the classroom, I always felt welcomed and encouraged to have communication with the teachers about anything regarding my children. I highly recommend Hendrix Elementary to any parent that wants a well rounded school family and experience for their child.

My daughter started at Hendrix two years ago and the growth I have seen in her academically and socially has been so rewarding! Each teacher she has encountered have been loving and kind. She has formed special bonds with several of the teachers & because of this they have been able to encourage her strengths and help with her weaknesses. The IB program has helped her develop a compassion and general interest in the world. Since coming to Hendrix she has peaked interest in other cultures and has a deeper compassion and understanding for the world she lives in & the people she shares it with. I am so glad 5th grade has been added back to Hendrix so that she will have another year there!

Our family relocated from Columbia, SC to Spartanburg, SC last year. I could not be more pleased with the experience my girls had as they transitioned to a new school. The faculty and staff welcomed our entire family from day one. There were many after-school family evolvement events such as Title One Literacy Night and ML night. My daughter was also chosen to perform as a cast member in the school’s production of Aladdin Kids. It was phenomenal and the school was packed with parents and community members. During the school day, my children experienced a roller skating curriculum in PE, Spanish, Dance, and Suzuki Strings. My daughter’s teachers were so kind and made them feel right at home. My 4th grader is a now a more confident reader and loves math. My kindergartener is reading and writing above grade level. The administration clearly communicates with parents and truly loves each child. Hendrix is a hidden jewel!

We absolutely love Hendrix Elementary School. Everyone from the teachers, office staff, and students are so kind. I feel welcomed into this school and so does my daughter. I wouldn’t choose any other school if I could pick, I am so thankful for all that this school does to teach my daughter not only in academics but in who we all should be as people in our beautifully, diverse world!

I would not recommend this school to know one,unless your child is a straight A student.But with a little disability you can forget it.Unless you just need a baby sitter,then I would think twice about it.

Wow!!! What an amazing year. This is my 1st year here in SC. We are a military family and move a lot. I have a blind special need son and moved here for The Blind School. BUT I needed a South Carolina IEP. So I start at my local school, Hendrix, with the mind set it would be temporary. I was so impressed with the education, staff, therapists and teachers. I CHOSE to stay here at Hendrix. The diversity of the school, made it a great place for my son. Students and teacher were open to try new experiences. The principle and school board have been very open to ideas and come up with ideas for my sons education. I really felt like for the 1st time that not every step was a battle. We truly worked as a TEAM. I can drop my son off at school and not only know that my son will be taken care of but EDUCATED..

I have had three children go through Hendrix. The teachers and the staff are absolutely great!!! They care for your kids as if they were their own. The level of understanding they have of our community and the kids they serve is unreal. This school is making a difference in the lives of not only the children at the school but in the community and in the World. They do a lot with China, Japan, Nicaragua and Germany to expose these kids and teachers to many different cultures and prepare them for the world.. They have a excellent German program. When my kids left Hendrix, they were equipped to move to the next level. Your child will be challenged in every aspect of learning in a Great Enviroment. I actually knew and felt like friends with my kids teachers when the school year ended. Everyone is welcome and taken care of the same here. IB truly fits. They could use a few bldg renovatoins but the staff have made what they have a excellent learning enviroment and it gives you that comfortable feeling as a parent when you enter. I am so excited to hear Mrs. Humphries is the new Principal, my children still love and give her hugs today when they see her. Highly Recommended!!

I went to this school for 5 years. It was the most wonderful experience of my life. The teachers genuinely care about the children and I felt so loved and welcomed there. I felt at home, and after receiving the wonderful education I got there, I am now a 7th grade A/B student.

I think the teachers and staff are very friendly.i have 4 children my oldest being 17 my youngest is in k5 and it is CRAZY how much they except out of 5 and 6 year olds.what happened to learning ABC's and tying their shoes??Reading and math in kindergarten and lots of negative remarks I want to see more positive!Little boys have harder times sitting still and focusing!at 5 kids should love school my other 3 kids did but not him!to much learning at such a young age!!!!

My daughter has been a student @ Hendrix Elem. since she was in 4k. My dtr. is involved with quite a few of the different clubs/classes that Hendrix has to offer. My dtr. is now thriving in a single gender class and we will be putting her in a single gender next yr. The staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Hendrix Elementary School
