This school is extremely strict, with a dictator like principle who is not good with communication. They treat the childreb like little soldiers, then developing children.

Blue Lake school's teachers are actually not bad at all. I want to make sure it is well known that the Principal/Super Intendent DEANN WALDVOGEL and her "assistant" TAYLOR COMBS, have completely ruined the school, and the school board does nothing about it because Waldvogel is on the school board as well. I can name numerous instances of Waldvogel misusing her power, and terrorizing the teachers and students. There is no psychological safety at that school at all, everything is at the whim of the principal. One of the major issues that is happening at the school is falsifying student attendance, as well as not submitting formal complaints to the school board. DO NOT go here if you actually want your child to receive an education, you will be spending the entire time your child goes here trying to make sure that they are being treated with kindness and fairly, not to mention having to try to get the principal to take accountability and have some integrity. Department of education should look into the practices of the school following Waldvogel's take over. Such an Umbridge.

Another student slapped my daughter across the face, and the school did not contact me. I picked her up from school with a red cheek and tears streaming down her face. However, the next day the school called me into a meeting with 10+ people sitting around a conference table who had never even met my daughter to infer that something was wrong with her simply because she was behind insevenher reading level. My daughter is 7 years old and possesses more compassion, intelligence, and ingenuity than Blue Lake's assistant principal ever will. I am disgusted by your methods.

Outstanding. Principal is with it! 5th grade teacher, and basketball coach is great! She is what this little school needs. Fire!!

I feel this school does its best to exclude parents from being involved, and that bullying is not handled very well. Children are not supervised at recess very well at all!

Blue Lake school is like a family--the school is very supportive of the children and parents and grandparents are very welcome.

The principal, Paula Wyant, really supports the teachers and students to help the school be the best it can be.

I am impressed with the high quality of education this small school offers. The teachers and staff truly make an effort to help each and every student on campus. From free after school care for kindergarten students, to staffing the library, speech and language, music, and art programs, Blue Lake Elementary does the most for its students for what it is given.

The teachers at Blue Lake focus on community. They work together to make students value their community as well as value community participation in the school. The Blue Lake Rancheria, the City of Blue Lake, and many other local businesses work closely with the school.

Blue Lake Elementary is a wonderful tight-knit school and community where families and school staff work together to optimize student success. I truly enjoy working at this small, rural school.

My grandchildren attend this school. This is a small community and always felt that they would get the attention they deserved. However, some of the personnel LACK the ability to police bullies and children that put their hands on another. I feel they have lost the desire to keep our children's self esteem at it's highest and let troubled children rule the roost. Shame on the principal down to the staff.

My daughter attended Blue Lake School. I was very impressed with the teachers. They were nurturing and kind. Her education was rigorus and individualized. I highly recommend Blue Lake School.

Two of my children attend Blue Lake School. I myself attended this school from K-8. I could not be happier with the school and it's staff. My children are treated as individuals by caring and involved adults. I am a single mother who works full time and I am still kept completely informed of every aspect of my child's education.
