My experience of this school is that it is mediocre. The numbers are slowly going down, there is hardly any parent participation, the parents feel like they have to get everything for free, the students are behind, teachers don't effectively help those that are smart and they get behind and they always say we just don't have the numbers. This school will be shut down soon if something is not done. I don't see them helping every student especially those that are smart. It's sickening. This is a technology school that uses no technology to enhance learning, and they are a title one school with no funds. You are better off taking your child to another school and fast!!

MLST is a great school. The staff is great and they make you feel like you are family. With the school setting being so small, students are able to get more one on one attention. The activities that occur at the school are geared to improve the relationship between school and home. I have been blessed to attend MLST as a child and now my children have had the seem wonderful experience. The only sad part of the situation is when our children have to transition over to Winnsboro for middle school and high school. The closeness that they receive at MLST is not the same as at the middle school or high school. It is not a day that has gone by that my children have not come home happy about their learning experience and if there was a problem I feel comfortable going to the teacher or principal to work it out. I could not have chosen a better school if I hand picked it myself.

McCrorey-Liston School of Technology is great little school with a lot of surprises. Students are reading by kindergarten, and that's the norm. Students are really concern about their performance and strive for success. The teachers are highly qualified, most them have Master's degrees and few are nationally board certified. To verify the school's successes, please visit SC Department of Education website because MLST received a B on the SC State's report card. Furthermore, it is a school of technology. Students in grades 1 and 3-6 are using chrome books, and the primary grades access to iPods which are used daily. And far as student behavior, the kids are well-behaved and don't have major issues like other schools. And as a parent I can visit my child's class when I would like to. It saddens me that this site rated MLST so low when it simply not true. This is a predominately African-American student body but the kids and teachers have proven the societal norms and the expectations of others WRONG. I challenge you to research the school's report card on the state's department of education website. The only problem I have is, I wish the district would update the building.

I went to this school and doing the time there I know my mom didnt have problem with the teacher nor principal. Having a child there that they suspend from kindergarden but dont give you correct accusations on what really happened. I feel like a lot at tha school has changed and is not like wha it used to be.
