Just reading reviews seeing some not happy. Everyone has their good and bad I guess. I respect that. My story. My son was in special ed and I honestly thought the school and his team of Teachers did best job possible. He was in such bad shape starting kindergarten. I really was worried and surprised at outcome. I didn’t think it would go well as it did. He moved on to middle and fit right in . I mean his grades weren’t perfect but for him I was very proud of him to see how far he came. Everyone at Bethpage treated us great. I was a hands on dad. I got know each Teacher he had well. I volunteered much as I could. I seen the school from behind the scenes and seen very loving Teachers. Amazing people from top to bottom. They truly seemed like they helped and showed a lot love to my child. Parents all are looking for what’s best for their child. Theirs going be different opinions. Some children I’m sure going do better at different places. I’ve dealt with alot schools alot kids and step kids. Kinda miss it now. Bethpage really worked good for all three my children. Anyone starting a child in any school just try be involved as much as possible with the schools and Teachers. Friends Children always seem act different when I seen them at school. Very grown up great kids. Parents try be there so you can get first hand look what’s going with your child and how they relate with Their Teachers. Children will say anything abt a story or experience at least mine always got excited when telling what happened at school. Above all be patient try set good example with relations with their Teachers.

This school is NOT neurodivergent friendly. My son is adhd and started kindergarten here. He was regularly sent to the principal’s office, and often isolated during lunch. He was angry and confused about the punishments, but continued to try his best. I tried multiple times to work with the teacher to figure out how best to help him and I was made to feel like I’m the problem. The final straw with this school was when I received a call from the school saying my 5 year old son would be in the principals office for the day. I said no he wouldn’t be and went to pick him up. I learned that they claimed he was was being disruptive, among other things. After further investigating by the principal we found out that he hadn’t done any of the things they claimed. So someone took time to gaslight my son and convince him he did these things he didn’t do, had him sign this disciplinary report, and then isolate him. I removed him from the school that same day and he’s never gone back. They have failed my son, and they have failed me. I trusted they would protect and support my son, but instead he was made an example of and disliked by ADULTS. Unacceptable. The staff should be ashamed.

School is stagnant advanced students are held back from learning and progressing. Discipline of students is erratic with no continuity. Students who did not make passing grades are elevated to next grade. Creating a problem for the next schools who these children are moved on to.

The classrooms are hands on. All the teachers are very nice and helpful. And they do a lot of events.
