Teachers here are the only good thing. Administration consistently puts policy over people. There is so much turn over! Everyone raves about the education. But Berlin students are always behind Voorhees and Gibbsboro in math. Taxes are low in the area- you get what you pay for!

Excellent experience thus far with having children at BCS for 4 years now. As of late, administration special services. and the leadership has done a terrific job with communication, improvements and creating an atmosphere where the children can develop socially and academically. The community is very supportive of the school and the parent association and involvement at the school is first class. Having one of our children as a special needs student at the school, we are comfortable and confident that his best interest is being met and appreciate the open line of communication with the teachers.

Negative not a warm welcome atmosphere. Very cold administration. Home and school are all alike. Must fit in. Not well suited for a working Mother’s.

Excellent. I don't understand the great school ratings. This school was an 8 / 10 when we moved to the area and, along with most of the other schools, has fallen to a lower rating as the GreatSchools rating system has changed. Ultimately the education and staff are phenomenal. If you look into the factors bringing the school down they relate in areas of diversity, lower income students, etc. Not that these areas are unimportant, but they pull the score much lower than should be the case for the educational experience offered. All-in-all, this school should not be a lower or equal rating to Clementon or surrounding schools, and I still believe is a sold 7-8 of 10. I went to Elementary/Middle School in Cherry Hill at schools that are highly rated and my son's educational experience is equal to, if not exceeding, the education I received at those schools.

My experience at BCS has been a very positive one. Berlin is a community that is very involved in the school community. There are so many amazing opportunities for the families to be involved with their child’s learning throughout the school day and during the many special events held after school. As with everything, there may be problems that arise, but we work to solve those problems - the teachers and staff, the families, and the community - together.

Terrible school for bullying. Ineffective leadership whose only job is to bully the parents and defend the bullying kids. The administration needs to brush up their act or be shown the door.

Disappointing and like a crescendo..it’s not what it was and going down further. The school environment is toxic for any decent student to continue. Many families are forced to pull out their kids and sent them elsewhere to continue keeping their kids safe and happy.

The last 7 years I have seen my children go through 3 superintendents, and this is by far the least experienced one yet. This School is certainly paying the price for the Boards decisions. Something has to change.

We moved to Berlin in 1985 because we heard the school system was excellent. 3 of my children attended and now my granddaughter. The teachers and staff have been very helpful over the years. I always tell everyone that the Berlin Community School is great.

Our school is first and foremost a community school. The community prides itself on our school and the best teachers in New Jersey. Our administration is always on top of things and issues. BCS is a National Character School and our students perform well on state tests(regardless if you like testing or not, we do very well.)

BCS deserves every honor they've received! Even if we were to move, I'd pay for my kids to be able to go to BCS. I have never seen a school with so many friendly teachers (this first observed just from walking the hall, greeted w/smiles and friendly hellos by ALL and every time. It then makes me smile). But most importantly, the teachers are SO dedicated to being the best, hence, making our kids the best by keeping parents heavily involved through updates via phone calls, daily and wkly. notes and Email messages. My 3 kids were born premature with many difficulties but because of the wonderful preschool program and continuous aid and support each and every year, my kids are extremely bright, advanced and learning right along with their peers. I worried about bullying, as all parents do, but we have not had any issues and the teachers keep me updated not only on my kids' academically but socially. I felt better knowing that they were keeping an eye on who socializes with whom and making an effort to balance each classroom each year being armed with this information. They deliberately teach kindness and self-worth! I'm SO grateful to have my kids attend BCS! - J.Plenty

Terrible office staff. Very rude and unprofessional. Maybe the teachers are all right but I would strongly recommend parents to refrain from choosing this school. It's more than just grades!!

I was a member of the first graduating class of 1959 at the "new" school. The band was my favorite activity but I pursued a career in medicine. The safety patrol kept me very busy as I was a captain in 1958 to 1959. The teachers and my classmates were the best! I am very thankful for attending this school.

My son has been attending BCS for the last 2 years. I have never before experienced such a quality staff that genuinely cares for the students. He has thrived in his education. Excellent Principal and administration. It just saddens me that we will be moving out of district soon. I will miss BCS for sure.
