Parkview is an incredible school with amazing staff! The school climate is warm and friendly. The school just won a Washington State Achievement award for excellence in growth over the last 3 years! The teachers are excellent, and the new building structure, which will be open next fall, is the step in the right direction for improving the building. The new principal (been there 2 years now) is responsive, and has great rapoire with students, staff, and parents. The PTA is also great, planning and organizing functions and events throughout the year. A favorite is the school silent auction and carnival! This school definitely deserves a higher rating than 3 stars!!

The proximity to Cornwall park has me worried, but if you take the time to address your concerns with staff, they will take the time to accomodate your issue, Mrs. Batdorf is certainly the best school receptionist in all of Whatcom County!

We have been involved in Parkview since 1997, when our oldest started in first grade.. We have had issue in the past, some were our kids, some were other kids.. We have always been able to speak to staff with any worries, we have been though three principles, each with their own way of doing things.. I have always been respected at this school from everyone whom works there.

The principal does not respond to safety concerns, either on the playground or in the classroom. Multiple parents from my child's classroom have tried discussing this with her to no effect. The academic approach was very cookie-cutter and made no allowance for students above grade level, though perhaps this was due to the teacher being forced to spend more than 50% of her time addressing behavioral and discipline issues that should have been corrected by parents.
