Our family and kids have been at ACS since 2015. We just love ACS so much. It's a great school with great focus on spiritual, emotional, and academical growth. The school community is also very supportive and inclusive. We feel very involved in the classrooms and in what's going with the school as there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and great communication from the teachers and the staff.

My daughter has been a student at Assumption Catholic School for 6 years and I couldn't be happier about my choice to have her attend ACS. The teachers and staff are great and very supportive. They care about all the students and are genuinely interested in their wellbeing.

The teachings of community involvement and required service hours to our community are an invaluable lessons beyond books and tests.

We sent our sons to Assumption after becoming disillusioned with the local public school system. ACS has a wonderful community that welcomed us warmly and has supplied our kids with a great education. We are excited that our daughter will be starting preschool there in the fall as well. I can't recommend Assumption Catholic School enough, and we are not catholic.

Assumption is a fantastic school all around. From the incredible and committed leadership in Dan Anderson and the admin staff to the caring and dedicated teachers and through the para-educators and support staff, the entire community is top notch and engaged. The parents are engaged and caring, and the kids learn more than just the book smarts we all associate with schooling. The structure of the Catholic education teaches the kids routines, and the foundation of love and Christian values underpins the entire education with a larger purpose built on considering others and the big picture of life outside of our tiny bubbles of 'self'. The music, PE, art, Spanish, and numerous other bonus classes and events set ACS apart. There are a large variety of interesting and fun for the family events (Superbowl party, Fun Run, Daddy Daughter Dance, Rollerskating party, Trick or Treat, Harvest Festival, etc) organized through the school that are so fun and valuable for building community and bridging the gap between the home/family education and with the teachers. My children have excelled in the year they've been at ACS and have caught up where they were deficient from being in the public schools for a couple of years. Great work ACS!

We absolutely love Assumption. The teachers care for each and every student. The principal is top notch and knows every parent/student by their first names. Our child often struggles in school and gets the extra one on one help that he needs to set him up for success. The friends my son has made are more like his chosen family. We feel that Assumption is setting our son up for a very bright future.

We are incredibly happy with our decision to send our three children here. The small classes and caring, passionate teachers enable learning at the individual and group level- students are truly known and loved. The academic and behavioral expectations are high but enforced in a way that honors the student and the family. As parents, we are encouraged to participate in our child's education and to be part of the larger community. I can't imagine a better place for a child to thrive in their education and we have been so blessed by our time at Assumption.

Fall 2022 was our first year at Assumption and we couldn’t be more delighted! The community has been exceptionally welcoming and all four of my kids have settled right in with new friends. At pick up and drop off I can easily find another parent to chat with. The school social calendar has also provided my family an opportunity to meet with other families outside of class for movie nights and spaghetti dinners. My husband also feels like he has made connections at the events despite not being on campus on a day to day basis. We are not a Catholic family so chose ACS based on academics and the educational challenges a Catholic education would provide. A nurturing environment is present throughout the school as my kids learn, struggle and succeed in understanding a concept. Teachers and staff care if my children are learning and academics and achievement are celebrated. We are all so grateful for ACS and the joy it has brought to our family!

Assumption Catholic School has been a true blessing. At the end of the 2019-2020 school year, my two youngest children were in a local public elementary. While I think the teachers and staff were great at the public school, the challenges and development my children have experienced far exceed my expectations.

Assumption has been the best decision we have done for our children! Our former school was recently moved to another area of town and we were looking for a school that had frequent Spanish language instruction. Assumption checked all our lists: excellent education, Catholic/Christian based values, diverse student body, affordability and extra-curriculars (though this was modified due to the pandemic). The teachers are absolutely excellent and I was extremely impressed with the curriculum. The children have homework (which was a huge shocker for my 4th grader) that prepares them for upper-level education and reinforces what they have learned in class. I see a huge difference in my child's education and confidence in just 1 year at this school! My kindergartener needed speech services and his teacher was able to identify the need and plug him into a speech therapy quickly where it would take more time in any other school. The leadership is excellent in communication and families are encouraged to be involved! It's a smaller school which I believe to be an advantage in feeling more like a community. Even though we are here during the pandemic, I still feel connected to this community. Definitely worth touring and if you are able to get in, it's absolutely worth it!

My experience with Assumption Catholic School has been wonderful. We originally had our youngest daughter attend preschool a few years ago, but we lived outside of Bellingham so we put both our daughters in our neighborhood public school. After the pandemic closed all schools in the spring of 2020 and forced us parents to manage "remote learning," we started thinking about ACS again. Thankfully, ACS announced that they were planning to open for full-time, all week, in-class education in the fall. By August, I had registered my children and my family was welcomed back as if we'd never left. My oldest daughter was so nervous to start at a new school, but the ACS community helped to make the transition easier by partnering us with a "buddy family" with daughters that were the same age as my children. I was also impressed by how organized and prepared the ACS staff and principal were to ensure our children were safe by putting in place clear health guidelines and COVID protocols before school re-opened. Having smaller classes does make ACS more nimble and proactive in how we make in-class education effective and safe for students and staff. I highly recommend ACS for parents who want to provide their children with an excellent education with accountable teachers and based in the Christian faith.

"We want our children to have the experience to grow in a community based on faith, service, and solidarity with others. Assumption, more than a school for our children, has been a family for us where you feel that everyone takes care of everyone with love." – Bernardo Torres

Assumption opened for in-school learning on September 2, 2020, and we could not imagine being anywhere else. We did not start our child at this school in preschool or kindergarten. We transferred in, and each day we watch our child RUN into the school because he is so happy to see his teacher and classmates, who he calls "my other big, happy family." The principal and faculty--talented, warm, degreed professionals--have done exceptional work in running a school during a pandemic and welcoming many, many new students, most who are not Catholic. Our child feels seen, loved, challenged, and nurtured by an incredible team of inspired professionals. For the second year in a row, Assumption was voted #1 independent school in Whatcom County, and we understand why: excellence and care, at every level, every day.

I see my son being recognized and valued by the teachers and fellow students at Assumption. All the teachers and staff know the students by face and name. I see them checking in with my son when he is struggling and cheering him on when he is succeeding. There is a palpable feeling of being all together as a team at Assumption.

Our child's life changed at this school -- he's a happy and loved student, thanks to the highly educated and dedicated education professionals at Assumption. As parents, we sensed the school's caring community and rigorous academics on our very first tour. Seeing any school in person is the best way to sense a prospective fit for a child. (This Sun, Feb 9, the school is hosting an Open House, 2 - 4 pm, with all interested families and children warmly invited.)Each day at this school, for the past three years, our appreciation has only increased, because of the caring faculty and the tremendous leadership of the principal (now in his fourth year). We love the ethnic diversity, the economic diversity (a third of families receive tuition assistance -- this is not an elitist school), the academic rigor (both high achievers and children with learning differences thrive), and the beautiful families (both Catholic and non-Catholic families contribute and are in lead volunteer roles). Each year, the principal conducts a parent satisfaction survey. (Ask to see the responses -- it really gives a picture of the greatness of the school.) One response was very simple and true: "At Assumption, no child is overlooked." The teaching is very personable, deft, and rigorous. The commnity is warm and inclusive. Our child is a different student at this school -- happy, loved, and challenged in all the best ways.

10 out of 10. This school is our extended family. Both in teaching our children the way we would and in supporting them in their academic and extracurricular lives.

Top notch education that is Christian based but not Catholic egocentric. Academics are fantastic!
