We have been very impressed with the schools communication and support of our childrens academic progress. The elementary school also has a number of wonderful social events such as camping, pancake breakfasts, steam nights that allow the kids to socialize and learn. We have been very please with the entire experience at the elementary school.

My child has been bullied by teachers and students. Nothing has been done about the bullying incidents. I have tried to speak with teachers and principals and they all stick together and do not confront the problem. My child was described as a model student and a leader by her home room teacher. Due to recent bullying incidents my child self esteem, self worth, self image, and confidence has been ruined. My child does not feel safe at school. My child does not trust teachers anymore because of the recent bill incidents.

This is an excellent school! The teachers are helpful, the children are challenged and are provided with an amazing learning experience.

Great school! Teachers genuinely enjoy their jobs. I love the extra programs and activities offered consistently throughout the school year. It really keeps kids, faculty and parents involved and we all get to know each other outside the classroom. This is my children's second year. I don't have any complaints.

Really good experience here for our child, compared to our previous school. Much better academics, actually has activities other than just sports, and kids who need extra help actually receive it without parents having to beg. Very impressed with the caring teachers and staff!

Do not let the Great Schools rating fool you. Whiteside Elementary is a fabulous school. The principals and teachers are wonderful and care so much about the students. We have had a very positive experience at Whiteside!

We loved everything from the principal, to the nurse to the kindergarten teachers. Everyone went out of their way to make our experience and transition exceptional. Don't let the rating fool you. This dedicated team is amazing! Have you seen that garden!?!?!?

A number of years ago, we moved from O'Fallon to Whiteside to ensure both our special needs and normal needs child both would be at the same facility. We were initially apprehensive based upon the academic ratings on this site. We have found the teachers and staff to be as loving, caring, professional, and talented as we could ask for. Both of my children have been challenged, learned, and I feel have been in a safe environment. My eldest graduated from Whiteside elementary and is now in all honors classes at the middle school and has been scoring way above average on standardized testing. I am very happy with the decision we made and I know many others who love this school as much as I do. I owe much to this school for well-preparing my children for the life ahead of them during their formative years.

Great faculty and administration! My son has attended whiteside K-2 and has had a very positive experience. The school utilizes interactive technology to engage the kids and provides a fun learning environment. Every week the kids participate in "specials" which includes PE, art, music, library, and computers. My son loves going to school here.

We actually transferred our children from private school to Whiteside. The quality of teachers, the extra-curricular activities, and personal attention our children received exceeded our expectations. Moreover, this is a school that celebrates diversity. There is a zero tolerance policy for bullying which was refreshing to see. The kids at this school come from all types of backgrounds and together they become friends. Our son just graduated from High School and our daughter is a Junior in HS now. Both of them cherish the friendships they have from their Whiteside Days and they both plan to attend college on the east coast. The leadership and teachers at Whiteside create a great atmosphere for learning in and out of the classroom.

We have tried to give leadership the benefit of the doubt at this school, but have not been impressed. The teachers our child has had have been excellent and academics have never been an issue. It seems, however, that leadership lacks a level of professional maturity. Zero tolerance policies should not serve as an excuse not to have to apply critical thinking and/or common sense to each individual situation.

All three of my children went there. My daughters had a near great experience, but my son had some issues, I was not happy with his 1st grade teacher. I thought that my children got an excellent education, and that is important. I was not at all happy with the leadership, and hope that this has been changed. In fairness, it has been several years since my children have gone there. We moved in 2007 with the military.

My daughter went to this school for K and she hated it not only did she get punished for not being able to do the work she didn't get any help from the teachers to help her complete the work. We moved just to get her out of this school.
