I appreciate the time my child has spent in this school. The teachers and staff have been wonderful and available for consultation from me as a parent. They seem to genuinely care about the kids. The principal is active and well known. I have seen him many times interacting with the teachers and children and not only back in an office. There are plenty of (pre-covid) activities that are well planned to bring the community together. I feel my family is respected and my child is getting a great education. The building is inviting and there is a good atmosphere.

Very nice caring teachers and faculty. The ciriculum seemed behind other school district in the area as we have friends in different schools in the area who were further along in math concepts at the end of the last 3 school years. When we move to a different district I had to pay for a large amount of tutoring to catch my child up (she was an A/B student at Jefferson) or hold her back a grade. They only offer PE once a week, very short recesses, they do not have any clubs, very limited sports options only available to 5th & 6th grade (basketball and cheerleading) and do not go on field trips. My child loved the teachers and was upset to leave but then when she got to her new school she could not believe the difference.

All of the other reviews are old. This school has a new principal and a lot of new teachers. The school has gone down hill fast. Bullying is a huge issue here. Several parents have complained about it and nothing is done. The test scores are also not good. Also if you are a minority do not go here, your child will most likely be labeled and once that happens there is no getting away from it. The staff acts like a bunch of politicians they will smile and tell you what they think you want to hear. If you don't believe it just come up and ask some parents I can guarantee you'll find some who are disgusted with the school. There are teachers at this school who yell and scream and children all the time. I'm sure there are some parents who think this school is just great but it is only great if you grew up in the area and they all know you, then your child will be treated like gold.
