Typical Midwestern suburban school, focused on test performance rather than student involvement. Expect worksheets and desk work for Kindergarten and not much else.

Teachers, staff and student teachers take very good care of the students in challenge them to strive for higher goals. The exposure that our son is getting to so many different subjects is mind-boggling, especially for first grade. Not only are they being taught the 3Rs but they're being asked to tap into their creative and analytical side as well. What I find most compelling is our teachers willingness to teach her students critical thinking at such a young age.

We moved back to the Dayton area last summer and chose our new home based in part on the reputation of the Sugarcreek-Bellbrook schools. The faculty and staff of Stephen Bell have been wonderful in welcoming my 1st grader and helping him settle in to his new environment. He's very happy and has made a lot of friends, and we are thrilled with his progress. We couldn't be more pleased!

The staff is excellent and very personable. They have a great security program as well. The downside is the every other day kindergarten program doesn't allow for your child to get on a routine. They don't challenge the student. It would be fine if your child is on level or below level as I think then they'd be challenged, but if they are above level they will be bored. Other schools he's attended developed ways to challenge him. It seems like he's been put on auto pilot since the teacher doesn't have to worry about him passing his skills test at the end of the year.
