This year was our first year attending St. Gertrude. Coming from the public school system I could not be happier with the experience. My oldest attending middle school has flourished and is now 100% comfortable talking to all his teachers, not only about school but about personal life as well. This has never happened ever in my childs school life, because he has always been fearful about speaking to teachers. He always brings up the fact that he loves that his new school is so small because all the students care about each other. As a parent I have not seen any disrespect from the priest. I like that he is direct with the parents instead of sugar coating problems. I have to say that he does have very high expectations for the students and his passion is for the students to succeed not only in school but in their faith as catholics. Therefore his involvement in the school can be seen by many in a negative way. Talking to my child about the incidient that unfortunately happened at school, he mentioned that he never felt disrespected or talked down to by the priest. That he actually felt safe because both the principal and the priest were involved to fix the problem as soon as it happened instead of not doing anything about the situation as in his old public school. My child also mentioned that this incident helped him realized that his teachers, principal and priest all care about the students well being. I WOULD 100% RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO EVERYONE!

By far the worst experience ever. My child will be graduating soon and it can’t come fast enough. I definitely do not recommend this school. It seems that all they care about is the money. Kids do not feel comfortable speaking up. This school has a high tolerance for bullying and substances being distributed in the school. The priest talks down to the students and will tell you, the parents, that if you don’t like it, you can leave. He recently had a “talk” with students using in his own words, “a colorful vocabulary,” telling kids that some of them would not even be getting a bachelor’s degree in the future, he intimidates them and enjoys arguing with the students and parents. I sent my child here thinking it was a better education but it’s been the worst experience.

I cannot express how grateful we are to have our 2 daughters at St. Gertrude. They will be starting their 3rd year this upcoming year, and we cannot be happier. They've received great support from their amazing teachers. Ms. Chavez their tk teacher til this day treats my little one with so much love. Ms. Toapanta in Kinder is a real boss!! She's always going above and beyond for her kiddos. Ms. Ponce is so creative. She managed to develop the love of literacy in my daughter so much so that now she's a top reader in her 2nd grade class. Ms. Andrade in 2nd grade is simply amazing. She does so much for her kids. Her class just did their 1st Communion together and the look in my daughter's eye is a true testament to how much she's learning to love and follow in Jesus steps. All thanks to this amazing community at St. Gertrude. The school is not perfect, but we've made a commitment as a family to do our part and contribute to the betterment for the years to come. This school will only continue to grow and blossom if we all do our part. We truly love it here. It's been a welcoming experience from day one.

My brother and nephews are alumni. The new teachers and new principal are incredible. I feel safe leaving my 2 children here. My 5 year old will be starting this year. Our principal (Mrs. Flock) cares about this school so much, she has enrolled her own children for the coming school year. She has done so many incredible things that makes us all very anxious & proud to begin a new year as a part of this family community. I am happy to say that through thick and thin, I will continue to believe in St. Gertrude the Great because they have instilled values in my children that I don't believe they would have been able to learn in a public school. Thank you very much to the teachers and most of all Mrs. Flock for helping to bring St. Gertrude the Great back to where we were many years ago.

MY KID'S LAST YEAR IN HIS SCHOOL!!! NO MORE!!I don't like this school at all, I went on a Saturday to help out for the Sunday Breakfast sale and there was a parent that started complaining that we have to pay $5 everytime our kids are late to school or we arrive late to pick them up, she was gossiping about the teachers and principal that they want the parents to pay for everything in the school, the faculty wants to create a teachers launch and they sent every kid with a notice if parents wanted to purchase a microwave for their staff and coffee maker also if we wanted our children to participate in the school activities we have to send them with $5 just things like this every week the school or teachers come up with this I mean I wouldn't mind if the school and teachers actually paid attention to their students not just by trying to get rid of students they cant handle I'm not talking about trouble makers but they don't want to help their students out academically I mean that's the reason we are paying $350.00 monthly for our childrens education!!! not the school's lack of resources.

My daughter is attending St Joseph's High School and on several occasion, she has raved about how "awesome, it was that Mrs. Swan taught them about foreshadowing and about the how to and what to look for in the liturature books and poems. We have been blessed to have wonderful teachers touching our kid's life. She is the second to leave the school our of our three children.. Kudos to the teachers and parents who have constantly stepped up to coach and help make the kids dreams come true to be in a sport. Thank God we have wonderful teachers who have touched my kids so much. We have so many favorites.....Ms. Delgado who helped my two kids ( 3 yrs apart) to be more disciplined in their homework work and redo things until they got them right, Mrs Carrera who was an angelic soft spoken teacher who's love reflected in her patience with the second graders. Mr. Carrera, awesome in english and math. My girl took a huge leap in english that year with his wonderful inspriring stories, patience, and examples. Again his love relected in his integrity. And to all the other teachers and the current teachers. We Love you. Too bad the kids realize it more after they are gone.. Ah ha Their loss

It is now a new school year, I believe that we can go back to being the great school that it once was. We have a new principal and a new staff. They are just wonderful for my child's education. The school was lucky enough to keep some teachers. These teachers are great too! I believe that we are now going uphill instead of downhill. My child has been attending this school since kinder, and I want this school to go up so she can stay her 8th grade year. We have to patch up the bruises that this school has gone through in these past few years. If we have the effort to become one big family and participate in the school's events, we can restore and build up St. Gertrude!

St Gertrude the Great, is a good school, my son already graduated from this school and he did great! like in any other school there is always issues, but we as parents need to get involved in the school and not only criticize what others do. If you don't participate in your kids school then don't complain!!

I am a student of St. Gertrude the Great school. I believe St. Gertrude is a great school because all the teachers help out the students in many ways. They all like to spend time with the students and family. Also, the principal is a great influence on the parents and students. She is energetic and always positive. She is always trying to find new ways to keep the school up beat and happy. The new priest is also very positive and always giving lectures in ways students can understand and relate to. The teachers always try to challenge the students so that they may be prepared for their upcoming year. For people who have noticing bad changes before, people should come to the school to notice how many things have changed so far this year. Teachers, parents, and staff all have been helping constantly to show others how our school is a great school. ST. GERTRUDE THE GREAT SCHOOL. Remeber, "ONCE AN EAGLE, ALWAYS AN EAGLE" Everyone has been a former student should come to support St. Gertrude the Great School or always to rate our school and post comments of how you think our school is.

Its sad to read these negative reports, when they have been posted by the prior principal herself. Thankfully, St. Gertrude School has survived her poor management skills and has now has been fully staffed by a new principal and instructors. We are now blessed to be staffed with qualified and dedicated teachers with challenging academic programs. St. Gertrude has always been a great school, and It only takes one visit to see and feel for yourself the positive and safe enviroment our children are exposed to.

The parents need a shake up. I am not the only parent who feel this way. There are good parents, and there are those parents who talk but don't deliver. I think the academics is too difficult. My daughter struggles in math, she is learning algebra in junior high. The teacher should allow retests.
