This school lacks any type of meaningful communication - school to student or school to parent. They offer no programs for students unless they are sports based.

Poor since there is little discipline and true learning is not being encouraged.

MVMS has a few real social issues which collide with academic issues. i am highly involved with my kids education. As others have said, many teachers are quick to issue F's without involving or alerting parents there is an issue. They will quickly move kids to the back of the classroom if there are any indications of less than stellar performance. I have had two kids (high scoring) attend MVMS and real problems like bullying have gone unchecked on several occasions while the blanket policy of quickly suspending a kid even when defending themselves is a disturbing reality. Do not buy a typical bike lock either. Apparently, there are middle school kids who practice cracking the locks open and changing the combinations while on school grounds. I have worked with two different principles. One guy was focused on retirement and finally replaced by an Asst. Principal who seems to be doing better. But behavioral issues abound at this school. This school suspended a kid and made him go to counseling because a girl kissed him and they were seen by a janitor. There are a handful of good teachers but most have no business teaching energetic middle-school students.

Mountian View Middle School was monumental in getting my son the help he needed that another school could/would not identify. There teachers and staff really pushed for the extra help for him. I love the school and the teachers there.

I am a student at Mountain View Middle School, currently in eighth grade!I just want to say that MVMS is a terrific school to go to! The curriculum is hard but doable! I have a had straight A's for the past 3 years and have gotten 600 on my math CST'S. That is all thanks to my wonderful teachers! Our school staff trys so hard to make us happy and make the school enviroment as fun as possible, and I think they succeeded. Even though MVMS has had its ups and downs I still believe the ups have a high more efficiency than the downs!Everybody from MVMS has encouraged me and I think im finally ready to step into the world you call highschool! Have a great summer! GO COUGARS!!!!
