I am a mother of two students. My daughter has been in this school for two years. She is reluctant to leave, but she is going to middle school soon and has to leave. Everything in the school is very good, and the after-school classes can expose children to diverse things, so I also sent my son to the kindergarten of this school. He is also very happy. The teacher will communicate in time if there is any problem and cares about the child!

Bullying and violence is out of control. My 7 year old was bullied started with a slap to the back of the head. Eventually leading up to my 7 year old being held down by two 9 years olds while another punched him in the face, stomach and kick in the nuts. I was reassured by the teacher, Vice principal and principal that this was being handled. I had to remove my son from the district after these boys started stomping on his head. Since then I have discovered 4 other students who continued to be brutally attacked by these boys. When I would keep my son home cause he was scared district would call to tell me they are considered unexcused and he is truant. Whole district has no concern for your children they only care about money.

The administration refuses to correct problems that occur within a classroom that are caused by the teacher. Multiple complaints of the same teacher have been presented and the administration does nothing to address the problem, nor do they know what's going on at their school. The assistant principal can be quoted stating "People have used her office and she does not know why or what was happening". This school's focus is more on using electronic devices, even in Kinder over actual teaching of pertinent information for the grade level.

The office staff is rude and uncaring. Some of the teachers are good but some are more focused on the students getting A’s then helping them learn. My child has a hard time with math and this years teacher won’t except a a grade less then 90%. This is extremely stressful for my child. There’s more to school then just grades, it’s important they understand what is being taught. Also, having people in place that care about the child and the family goes a long way.

Brookside has been a wonderful experience for my two children. The teacher have made an extra effort to help them succeed with their learning. The teachers and administrators have been very helpful when one of my children experienced bulling. The situation was not taken lightly and was constantly monitored. There is great communication between administers, teachers and parents. I know the school is only rated a 6, but I would recommend it to anyone. The only concern is that starting in 3rd grade most home work is done on chrome book. This can cause overload to students when have to summarize their reading, type and spell all at the same time. I feel the students can also use the computers at a crutch to spell.

Great school and teachers. I am impressed with how the principal, Dr.Borsaw, has implemented new ideas making my childs school fun and exciting.

I have two kids that attend Brookside. Although they seem to be a good school and push the kids to do their best, there is a lot vocus on their volunteers. They will side with volunteers over parents. A volunteer signed a permission slip for my son to leave the campus on a field trip I didn't know existed. When this was addressed with the district nothing was done to rectify this situation. The teachers have taken sides in my family law case even though I have specifically ask for them to stay out of it and only teach my children.

Being at Brookside has surpassed my expectations. At our previous school it was very difficult to ask for any assistance for my daughter. Coming to Brookside my child s teachers immediately saw her struggles and began a development plan to assist her in all her academics. The Principal is very enthusiastic and always looking into ways to make the school a better place for all students by listening to the parents concerns and suggestions.

Brookside is one of the best schools here in Beaumont, my kids are doing really well there. My son Jonathan score 600 in the CST for the past two years. Thanks to all the teachers there.

We have been at Brookside for several years and love it! The teachers are wonderful and everyone is so supportive and they really care about giving your child the best education. The PTA puts on super fun events for the kids and family and they truly appreciate their volunteers. We couldn't be happier there!

Teachers are fine, the admin staff and ancillary workers are somewhat iffy. Huge lack of communication and consistance causes unnecessary drama.

Me and my kids love this school. I felt perfectly safe leaving my kids in these teachers hands. They were open, welcoming, inviting, all the things 3 Rings Ranch was not. The teachers care, they listen, they talk. The principal Carolyn Goode is awesome! I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

Brookside is a great school. From the reviews that I have read regarding kids coming home with 2-3 hours of homework nightly and it's takes too long to take advantage of the volunteer aspects through the school or district. Listen, I agree with those parents that state the teachers are spread thin. We're not the only school district that has to deal with that, blame the state budget for that or lack of. It is our responsibility as parents to take the time to get involved with our children, the school and especially your child's teacher. Teachers need to know that they have your support in educating your child(ren). Teacher's are with our children a large portion of the day and in some circumstances, they see your child more than you do(truth). Become apart of your child's learning and you'll see an amazing child/student flouorish. Communication is the KEY!
