My son loves going to school. He’s welcomed with hugs and love from the staff. He strives to do his best and is encouraged to read topics that are stimulating for him. As parents we feel connected to our child with the Dojo app. Quick responses from staff.

My son has been attending GMES for 2 years now (K & 1st). Both of his teachers have been phenomenal!! He started kindergarten in 2020. His teacher worked tirelessly to ensure her students’ success, even with having to switch back and forth through several learning environments (virtual, in person, & hybrid). He made amazing growth in 1st grade. He has some trouble with anxiety. His teacher was a perfect fit for him and worked with him to learn coping skills. GMES is an amazing school, and everyone seems to be a family and do the best possible job that they can for their students!

The teachers and staff at this school have been wonderful! This has been the most positive experience for my son and I don't have one single complaint! This school deserves a lot more recognition for their handwork and dedication towards their students and all of the staff that I have come in contact with have been very pleasant and helpful!

The staff and teachers are supportive. I can't complaint. I keep an open communication with them and my kids. Kids will not learn everything at school as parents we need to support them academically so, they can be successful.

My daughter attended GMES from 3rd to 5th grade. Our experience while she was there was adequate. My husband and I feel that they did not prepare her well academically for middle school. Our son then attended Kindergarten at GMES for the first couple months of the school year. We did not find his teacher or staff to be supportive of his academic needs. We explored the gifted program (our son is reading fluently and is advanced in other areas as well) but found it difficult to have him properly assessed for it. He has a muscle tone disorder (hypotonia) that affects fine and gross motor skills. The staff members we interacted with, were uneducated about this condition and did not provide reasonable support or accommodations for it. Lastly there was an incident on the playground where our son was assaulted by two classmates stepping on his tummy and chest and then pushing him down on the asphalt. He was sent to the nurse for the scrapes on his knee and arm but the incident was not reported. We learned about it from him and informed the principle who was unaware. We are now home schooling through a virtual academy. Our son is currently top of his class academically.

Many of my children have attended this school for a year or 2. One child *almost* made this from K-5 but ended up switching to a home school alternative due to conflict with the administration. It was the best decision I have made. The teachers all seem to be qualified for a public school and are great if you have an average child. If you have a child that is gifted - expect them to become "average" by the end of the year. I don't have a problem with the office staff, but would love to see some cheerful happy people to greet me when I need to visit the school. I guess the "grumpy" attitude starts at the top and trickles down to the staff. There have been many instances where I have run into very unprofessional behavior by the upper level people at the school both in person and on the phone. I have to say, I really miss Mr. Wine. The school fell apart when he left. He was great and kept a positive attitude throughout the school. I would love to send my children back to GMES but fear they will regress again...
