We recently relocated to the Fauquier High School district, and our experience with the transfer and admission process has been exceptional. I had a none normal experience. I took AP classes the moment I was able to and I took all the honors classes before that. That is what set me up to get into a good college. If you want to succeed here you will need to take the harder classes and let yourself be challenged other wise you'll enter the pipe line to Nova or LFCC and struggle to get to where you really want to go which will stop you from doing what you want to do.

I was never guided to challenge myself. This school was flooded with over 2000 students, and student relations were non-existent.

FHS was one of the best things that could have ever happened to me. Not only was I getting a great education from excellent teachers but I felt like I was welcomed into a new community and I felt like I belonged.

Both my daughters (7 years apart in age) had fantastic high school experiences in Fauquier County. Our oldest graduated from FHS and our youngest attended FHS until KRHS was opened. FHS has a warm, friendly, small town personality. Unlike schools in larger or overcrowded areas, students are given plenty of opportunities to participate and be challenged, and are recognized for their accomplishments. For the most part, the faculty and staff were supportive, encouraging, and genuinely interested in the students as individuals. The school's long history gives rise to tremendous school spirit and a great sense of community. Both of our daughters went on to college and were readily admitted to good state schools and felt academically and socially prepared to make the most of their college experience. I am grateful for the quality of their educations, and feel fortunate we were able to raise our family here!
