2.5/5. The people who go to this school, thinks it's the best school in the state. But if you look at the ratings, it is only rated 9th. Their are 3 other school in Baton Rouge that rank better then EHS. Plus this school is limited to what it can offer other then the basic core classes. Look at Catholic, Baton Rouge High, and Lee High, and you will see there is a huge difference. Another concerns is EHS is only focused on money, they charge for everything...ie a parking pass cost $160.00. It is only $125.00 at LSU for 12 month.

I guess its a good school and I couldn't really imagine going anywhere else in Baton Rouge. All I can is say is I wish I tried harder in middle school. Also, school lunch is either really good or really bad!

Honestly, this highschool puts way too much pressure onto students. Even in my earlier years of high school, they gave me too much homework that I could handle. They say they want students to have a social life and be part of extracurricular activities such as sports or the play, but how could you. Most of the teachers don't know what they are doing most of the times, and lecture maybe the whole time. If you are looking for your child to go to I highly do not recommend going to this private school due to the lack of everything. If your child is a really bright student and has no life except studying then this school is perfect, but if your child wants to have a high school life do not bring them here.

We have been very pleased with our first year at Episcopal. The theater department is amazing. My middle schooler enjoys four different arts each year including drama, dance, choral music, and art. We are also very impressed by the World Language department. Overall, the teachers are experienced and the administration runs things very smoothly. The other kids have been welcoming and it was easy to make new friends.

this school is not very great. I have hung out with some of their students and they were overall just mean, inappropriate, and had no manners. I would strongly disagree with sending your child to this school.

My child began school this year at Episcopal and we love everything from the talented teachers to the arts and science programs! They expose the kids to the tenants of r Episcopal Church- love, tolerance, faith in God. If you are looking for a fundamental church based school, do your research (this is not for you.) I can't wait to see how my child continues to blossom here.

I loved this school until this year. It isn't even the same institution in any regards. I'm extremely disappointed, and wish I was graduating this year so I could leave already.

I've been attending Episcopal for 10 years, and every year, the quality of education goes down, but the tuition goes up. The school has turned into a money hungry machine that asks for more money and downgrades programs. The education is good, but nothing note-worthy. The arts programs are lacking, and the school does not have any special flare. The school does not encourage any individuality. The students are all similar and of the same background, so if you are similar to them, then you fit in. If not, tough luck. The school is more sports oriented than anything, not giving programs like the robotics club or poetry club any time in the spotlight. The experienced teachers have mostly left and now new, young, inexperienced teachers have taken their place, so the school is full of just average teachers. If you have a lot of money and social status, then this school will be good. If not, it's not a warm fit. This will be my last year, as I'm switching to a more diverse school.

Episcopal has returned to its old Glory Days! Excellent faculty and staff - intelligent, compassionate educators. Top notch facility, results-oriented administration. Practical and purposeful expectations which embrace academic excellence, spirituality and service. Incredible array of top competing athletic teams that are fully resourced, superior arts programs that span acting to creative writing. Fully engaged parent body. Episcopal educates the whole child, physically morally, intellectually and spiritually. It's the best of the best, beyond compare.

We are in our second year at Episcopal, and can't say enough good things about the administration, teachers, staff, and facilities. Endless opportunities for kids and parents to participate in sports and the arts, amazing, cutting-edge curriculum, administration is both approachable and responsive to parent concerns. Wonderful, welcoming atmosphere!

No school is perfect. But I am certainly glad that we have been able to send both of our children to Episcopal. One attended for 13 years (K-12th), and the other has been a student since kindergarten. Current administration is very people-oriented and approachable. Since the new administration arrived, much needed maintenance has been accomplished or is planned for all the campus. Teachers are excellent. Coursework can be difficult, but that is to be expected at a college-prep school. Many opportunities for the students in sports and arts, and academic choices are plentiful. Beautiful facilities. Parental involvement is very strong. And the lunches are delicious! I would not want to send my children anywhere else.

I have been going to Episcopal for four years now, and it is easily the best school in Baton Rouge. Given the fact that Baton Rouge has very poor schools (U-high). The work can be overwhelming, but we have several long breaks during the day to go and visit teachers for help. The people who struggle at school are generally the ones who slack off and refuse to seek help. They really encourage individuality and how one can express his/herself. I think Episcopal is the best school in Baton Rouge, because of its challenging academic programs and its desire for strong leaders at school and away from school.

My family has been involved with Episcopal for seven years and I have seen many improvements in program, both academic and extracurricular during that time. Unfortunately, our level of trust has diminished since the current head of school began his tenure in 2010. Major changes have occurred with little or no communication. Parents are discouraged from open discourse. Financial aid awards were completely botched. I heard that faculty contracts were not received until June. Programs that directly affect students have been slashed in the name of the budget, while many positions have been added in administration, landscaping, etc. My children have always loved the school-hence the high ranking. Personally, I am skeptical of the current priorities and wish we could return to those things that were valued by the previous head: academic attention and excellence, character development, and timely communication.

Episcopal is all right, however, the students are overall extremely snobby and stuck-up. If you don't have the latest phone, shoes, hairstyle, and clothes, you are the runt of their teasing. The wealthier kids "own" the school and make the others feel extremely poor. The homework load is also excessive and unneeded.
