Uncovered that state complaints and another parent underwent a due process this year because their child was placed under a Baker Act due to not receiving services on their IEP. I spoke with many teachers and others at the District level for Polk, and they all steered us away from this school if your child has any special needs. The previous ESE teacher was great, but the new one was not so much. The principal stated that if your child has “a lot going on (Union) might not be a good fit” for them. The bullying is out of control and the staff doesn't take it seriously. I felt so bad for the parent who had their child Baker Acted this year because this school didn't take their child’s complaints seriously because of her autism. If your child has an IEP or 504, stay FAR AWAY because this school doesn't care.

This school has helped me, but the teachers teach very fast and won't stay on one subject. They'd give us a week to learn two things. Some people are slow learners. I will leave this school and go to a different state this summer. Hopefully this new school I am going to will be better at cooperating with students and making sure that the students aren't too scared to ask for help, hopefully.

Better of the rest of schools in Bartow. It lacks the ability to grow with technology. I have 3 daughters 17, 15, abd 11, both my 17 and 15yo did the same curriculum all 3 years they attended Union. I ams sure my 5th grader will also. It has good teacher, but the curriculum needs to get the kids more involved, and prepared for high school.

This a horrible school! We are looking for a transfer for my daughter! It is horrible and the teachers lack focus as well for their students! My daughter came home crying each day!
