I was a temporary student at this school and faced severe bullying in the girls' locker room. While tying my shoe on a bench, a larger girl surrounded by her friends demanded I move my foot. When I explained I would once done, she grabbed me by the neck, shoved me against the wall, and said, "Well, I guess you won't be doing THAT no more." Her friends mocked me as they left.Upset, I left the school on foot, not knowing how to get home and ended up in swamps, unaware of the alligator danger. Realizing the risk, I returned to the main road, where an officer found me before nightfall. He took me home, telling me my dad was worried sick. I never returned to that school again.I hope the school has improved and no one ever has to experience what I did.

Im a student at bartow middle school in the 2022- 2023 school year as a 7th grader and i have to say this school is a somewhat of a good school so i love the teachers that teach at the school they are very respectful they help encourage theyre students to learn what they are getting taught. Its a good school they try theyre best to stop the fights that go on inside of this school and the staff/ principle/ and assistant principles are really good people like Mr. Roberts hes a really good principle he suports the students aroung the school he also is a really good person my brother went to this school and now me and my sister go to this school this school has changed alot since my brother and two other cousins have gone here. This school is a somewhat of a supportive school i had rated this school because they have good people at this school but like 20% of them are bad students and we have 1054 students in this school so far but any ways i am just trying to say that i really love this school and what they try to do to help students out with theyre learning and theyre disability's.

well... I know why test scores are so low.. My daughter says there is NO control of kids in her classes. They act like animals in a zoo. She can't hear the teacher talking and that the teacher after 15 minutes gives up and sits down. I'm appalled that my daughter has to fake sick and call me so she can cry and beg me to get her out of there!! The noise levels are at 10 + all day and she literally is starting to have panic attacks. This is ridiculous and I wish I had more options for schooling in my area. Lunch is in the MIDDLE of her Science class?? They get up in science class walk to eat and then walk back to finish class?? What in the World? I'm so absolutely devastated that my child is unhappy at school. Poor poor review..and it seems like it's a deserved review! Shame on this "school"

Personally I'm an eighth grader now and over my past three years of being here Bartow Middle school has changed tremendously. When I was in sixth grade, I'll admit it wasn't the greatest place in the world. Some of the teachers were a little rude and the education system wasn't all that good, in fact I'd say it was horrible. But now a days, BMS is turning into a great school, this may be because of our new principle Mr. Roberts. He's trying his best to make BMS a better and safer place. I honestly Like the quote he used to make "good is the enemy of great, and great is what we need here at bartow middle school." He stopped saying this, and I believe its because our goal has been accomplished. Bartow middle school is now a much better place. I recommend thus school.

It's an amazing school the teachers are great and know what they are doing teachers are kind and students behavior has improved greatly people think they know everything about bartow middle from a rating and drama and rumors but really they don't if your kid is having issues or getting bad grades it's there fault don't believe any lies they make up about why they are getting bad grades. My daughter is in 7th grade. This is her first year here. She hasn't had any issues at this school. As matter of fact she went to a school of choice up to this year and actually her grades are improved and in 3 advanced classes. This school has issues along with all the rest with keeping teachers however I'm happy with this school . Parent of a 7th grader.

this school refuses to focus on the problem with teaching. they prefer to pass the blame on insignificant things such as the color of your childs binder. they are training drones and not teaching children. there is no talking at lunch, they cannot even sit with their friends during lunch, no backpacks, no organized binders allowed.....etc.etc. incompetence at it worst!

This school continues to get worse every year my child has gone here. Not only has it become less organized but the way some of the administration and staff treat the students is unacceptable, it is bad enough to have students being bullied by other students but when adults are bullying students it's even worse. While there are some really caring and great teachers at the school the negatives definitely outweigh the positives. If you have a choice enroll your child somewhere else.

Too many disrespectful, unruly kids there, looking to cause fights, do drugs, and lead others down the wrong path. Worst mistake I made was to send both my daughter, then my granddaughter there..
