A few years ago this school was great but the past few years it has been horrible also this website isn't up to date so alot of this information isn't accurate they do not handle bullying well at all and a lot of the kids are extremely disrespectful. Also the school is very behind in education we didn't have a science teacher for a whole year and we also didn't have science class for a whole year because all our science teachers quit I have alot of other problems with this school but everytime I leave a review it doesn't get posted so please just post my review thanks!

Barnet School has many great things going for it. The school values outdoor learning. There's a chicken coop, a bread oven and acres of nature trails. It's a great size, not too big or too small. We've enjoyed the school for the past 7-8 years. One thing that bothers me is the discipline, or lack thereof. I believe this may not be just a Barnet School issue, maybe it is a nationwide issue. I feel there's more talk than action or follow up when we've had an issue with another student with relation to our children. There's quite a bit of bullying that goes on, and I feel that the school makes it known that they don't tolerate it, but yet not much is done about it.

I'm starting my 10th year at Barnet school and I have strong opinions for this school. For one, this school does help every student but mostly makes changes to an entire class or two just because two or three students did something wrong the year before. With our No Child Left Behind thing we got going on here, students are passing onto next grade levels who should not be moving up. It's now up to the parents if they want their child held back or not. I've talked to a teacher last school year and she said that one or two of the kids might not be able to graduate the upcoming school year.

I have been at the Barnet School for a short while, but have found the staff, students and administration to be willing to make change in order to meet the needs of ALL students. This is a school that might have been in a rut, but is now moving forward to teach children how to be successful in a technological society. However, there is still time to enjoy the extensive nature trail, lush gardens, and all that the world has to offer!
