Amazing school that we truly love ! My child attended this school and we have only positive things to say: All teachers are qualified and take a lot of effort. The atmosphere is very positive and the staff genuinely cares for the children. Some teachers take the time to write positive notes to support kids and encourage their healthy learning habits . It is a very diverse community among the staff and students - Which is very important! Though it is a small school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. The administration is open minded and they think outside the box to make Bannockburn School a successful educational experience for all students. The principal is amazing in creating an environment of kindness, responsibility, and leadership. Our family is so grateful for our Bannockburn school family!

This is a wonderful school with supportive parents and a truly great staff.Unfortunately, all of the negative reviews on this site were written by one former and very disgruntled neighbor and parent. I would encourage everyone to check out Bannockburn School for yourself. It is truly a gem!

Horrible, disappointing and overrated. Please don’t send your children here.

My child was bullied for not being rich enough.. teased for never being on an airplane (she’s 7), teased for not having a ‘real’ piano. The kids and staff/parents do not welcome new people to the school.

This school is a Gem, I feel so blessed that we are in this small school district. My children get such individualized personal extra attention, in speech therapy to extra math help. The average class size is 12! Amazing! The staff is incredible, The new principal Mr M and Super intendent Dr H, work as a great team and have created a fabulous fresh friendly learning environment. They are always available if you have a question and always make you feel like a priority! The Best school on the Northshore 100%

Bannockburn school has unfortunately gone from an amazing school to acquiring the reputation of “its who you know, not what you know.” It is sad. Over so many years I’ve witnessed so much discrimination and unethical behavior by the current and previous administration and school board.members. There is a lack of respect, inclusiveness, transparency, honesty, and fairness towards all parents and students from volunteering, to test taking or retaking, to being given opportunities to take classes at the high school. These children had the grades and test scores but unfortunately not the political connections. I truly feel the state needs to step in and see what has been going on for years at this little school in this little community where Bannockburn is the only school in the district. And why do we need to pay so much money for a part time Superintendant, full-time Prinipal and full time Vice Principal, for a small school that has under 200 students?

Bannockburn School has been moving in a downward undesirable trend for about the last ten years. The current administration is more concerned with their budget than the education that once was present. It seems that the test scores have been dropping and the teaching is geared to pulling up the students that need more help than with the students who are at higher levels. Many of the parents who are concerned about their children's educational needs have gone to outside sources both during the year and during the summer to give their children the opportunity to excel from what is missing from the school. It may be time for a top level administration change if the community was aware of the school deficits. It used to be that this school was the benchmark among area schools but is currently sliding to the bottom of the barrel. What a shame on both the community and current administration.Another interesting trend , which some would consider a conflict of interest is the dual roles of current board members who are also officers in the current parent teacher organization known as BSPO. Not really sure how that works but the current administration doesn't seem to be concerned about conflicts of interests.
