South Park is what an elementary school should be: neighborhood school, caring teachers (most very good), and a great PTO which sponsors book fairs, ice cream night, field day, etc. Great intro into the great DHS school system.

From every experience at South Park I feel the children ARE NOT challenged at all. The teachers are nice and my kids loved going to school, but I had to hire private tutors to teach them math and reading so that they could be at a level that I felt was sufficient for their age. The school wasn't teaching them anything that I felt was useful. The biggest negative is the fact that the school DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!! What kind of a system is that, considering the crazy amount of taxes we are paying. We have 90 degree temps in October and summer sometimes starts as early as March. NO AC? That's not healthy. Especially when they cancel classes because of the high temps.

I am not impressed by South Park elementary school at all. It seems to me that teachers spend majority of their time on students evaluations instead of teaching. The 1st grade program is completely unstructured, majority of teachers are clueless in the class room .how to handle kids and how to teach them. Their major point of concentration is completion of the paper work . Leaves no time for teaching.
