It is great if you already have friends. It is hard to make friends. The sports are awesome!

This school is a very good school, but there is a lot of classism among kids. Also i have noticed favoriteism among teachers, were wealthier kids are treated as class pets and others are simply set aside with passing grades. Another thing I have noticed with my daughter is the kids are not frienly to her and look at her as if she doesn't belong, for example when Iwalk to the park and her peers are there, no one waves or says "hi" to her they stop and stare and whisper to others.

Shepard is a really great school that has the good fortune of being in a wealthy neighborhood, but...with that comes bullying and classism. Two problems that need to be more closely monitored. These kids need to know there will be consequences for this behavior as there seem to be none at home.

After sheparding two children through ABS Middle School, I can say with confidence it is lacking in integrity and quality. This is a school that is unfortunately in the decline.

Overall an excellent school. The teachers are great and the technology and facilities are probably the best for any public middle school in the area. The school is transitioning to a more varied system that offers challenging "seminar" classes, so students in the future will be very well prepared for honors in high school.
