My child attented Strehle for her Pre-k 3, 3rd & now 4th grade school years. She has been an above average student since she begin school at the age of 2. She has attended private schools for her Pre K- 4, KnderG, 1st & 2nd grade school years so in comparission to that, she has had great success here. She was placed into gifted last year to present, make the spirit squad team and is being auditioned for the Talent in Theater. I also have a daughter in Pre - K 4 and she has awesome teachers! I would say that the teachers do make a difference when they see a student and parents giving their best. It is our responsibility as parents to prepare our children for school and not expect miracles to happen witin a 6-8 hour day by a teacher that teaches over 60 students within that time frame. We need good ole fashion discipline to get our childern on track!!

I agree that this is not a good school. Another website lists the student/teacher ratio as 13, but it is actually 22 students to 1 teacher. Many of the teachers scream at the students. The afterschool program is horrible. The teacher sits at a desk in the cafeteria and screams, "DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!" the entire time while the kids run around and play. Unless your children are used to a "zoo-like" environment, this is not the place to send your kids. I plan to work with my child over the summer, and then switch to a better school for the 2011-2012 school year.

This is a very poor school. There is talk of a state takeover of Catherine Strehle, and I really hope this happens. Many of the teachers and half of the staff are unprofessional, rude, and clueless. The teachers constantly scream at the students. It's impossible for students to learn anything in this environment, and the LEAP scores prove it. The scores have been low for years, and now the teachers want us parents to step in and help them save their jobs. Our kids have suffered enough, and I'd like to see the state come in and clean house. I am pulling my kids out of this school, and hope to get them back on track quickly at their new school.

This is a terrible school. It's full of rude, unprofessional, lazy teachers who spend all their time screaming at their students or gossiping with each other. Many of them should have been fired a long time ago. There is one woman who works in the office who has no clue what customer service is; she is beyond rude, and clearly hates her job. I pulled my 3 kids from this school because their grades fell so far behind. Don't send your kids here!
