Great school. The facilities and professionals are the best around.

As a parent of two children in this school, I am greatly disappointed with Pine Grove School. The teachers are great. Overall, I'm sure 80% of the students and family love this school. But if you look beyond that you'll see a much uglier side of the school. The administration and staff are not focused on ALL students. It's easy to manage the average student. If your child is on the edge and needs support and help with their education - don't expect the school to provide more than the bare minimum. If your child has special needs, the school will put up a good facade of being helpful but will work to deny support and fight every step of the way until they have no other options. They will deny, deny, deny services and support and work the system to make getting additional interventions and support as difficult as possible for parents. They'll use every excuse they can think of - I've talked to so many families now that have had similar experiences - and we thought our experience was unique. We were dumbfounded to start hearing all these horror stories that were exactly like ours. Some spanning back 6-8 years so this isn't a recent thing. In addition to lack of early interventions and special needs support, there is blatant racism and bullying in 3rd and 4th grades. My children's experiences, when shared and discussed with other parents are similar. I'm sure the other reviews are accurate - for most of the kids and parents this school is great. But if your child is "different" PGS (and Avon in general) is not as welcoming as they project. The school has a culture of looking the other way and burying their heads, all to protect their reputation and jobs.

Pine Grove School is the elementary school you’ve been dreaming about. It is beyond amazing! The teachers are the kindest, smartest, most engaged teachers. Your kids will absolutely love their teachers. The school follows a rigorous curriculum that also makes learning fun. It is amazing to see the kids coming in for kindergarten without knowing how to read and leaving 5 years later with so many academic, social and emotional skills. Learning is tailored to each student’s needs and interests. There is also fun throughout the day with recess, art, music, PE, and library time. This school will be your kids happy place. It’s just that amazing.

My daughter has been attending Pine Grove Nursery School for the past year and a half and I couldn't be more pleased. She loves going to school, has made many friends, adores her teachers and is well on her way to being ready for Kindergarten next year. PGNS provides a loving, nurturing environment where she can learn and grow. It has been a great experience for us and we are very happy with our choice.

We were newcomers to Pine Grove in 2009 when my sons started 3rd and 4th grade. There was never a day that my sons or our family didn't feel welcome or outsiders. The PGS and community is a very warm and inviting one. In addition, the staff and faculty are amazing. I love both of my sons teacher and the ESOL teacher, which they get extra help being from another country. We are lucky , that Pine Grove is offering those programs. I appreciate that throughout this entire year, at any time I had a concern with my childrens education, I received immediate response.
