Before we criticize the school's performance based on the "one size fits all" standardized assessmentt, we must begin by giving credit where credit is due, as they say. WHO, here, has recognized that Webb MS houses a One-of-a-Kind program that welcomes, nurtures, and offers high-quality education (from highly qualified teachers w degrees and experience) for students from many different countries? Anyone thought about this? WHO, IN THEIR RIGHT MIND, thinks you can better?Webb MS. is not an "A" school because there is no way that a child coming to USA for the first time at the ages of 10, 11, 12, for example, can pass that monstrous state exam. Come on people! You try taking the test and then decide how you judge these children. You teach the test, then decide whether you ought to criticize the school and it's teachers. Students are not going to pass a state assessment as one yr immigrants, or two, or three, even. Learning & growing is measured differently for every child and it truly depends on their background and yrs in the U.S. BE REAL.

Mr. Sanchez is the reason the school is suffering. They need new leadership! Not quite sure why AISD is keeping him as principal when his hands off, pretending everything is okay approach is obviously not working.

Despite a recent change in leadership, there remains an experienced core group of teachers at Webb who truly care about the students and continue to hold them to high standards. Further, the support WE continue to receive from our community remains strong; in many ways, the contributions of these non-teachers has been just as influential as the work of Dr. Garcia and the veteran teachers who no longer work here. A school is more than a principal, and a teacher who anonymously predicts their (former?) school's demise on the internet without considering who their message may reach - THEIR STUDENTS (hopefully, former) - most likely lacks the character to truly make a difference anyways. For a few years, this school was a beacon of hope for struggling middle schools. It was, and in some ways still is, the most successful Title 1 middle school. This was under the guidance of Principal Garcia. However, since Principal Sanchez took over last year, it is easy to see that Webb MS is a sinking ship on it's way back to down to it's position as a failing school. His selfish leadership focuses entirely on superficial measures of success. Just a small example: he has unofficially changed the name of the school to Webb Early College Prep Middle School. Those words don't even make sense together! He talks a great game, and loves to hear himself speak, but is indecisive and weak when it comes to what is best for the teachers and students at this school. Webb has an excellent staff of teachers, but the veterans who brought this school out of the ashes are quickly jumping ship. After Sanchez's first year, 18 faculty left. The new hires try their best, but Sanchez will ruin this school. Soon.

Don't listen to these people folks, ive been going to webb since 6th grade and from my perspective the new improvments done not only onto the school but to the teachers are wonderfully amazing, the teachers are strict but nice and they will always help the ones in need help but also support the ones who are have good scores. The staff has been revised and new teachers have been added. The levels of gang activity have dropped since 2008, bullies? what bullies? Bullies are not a problem after the first year of school overtaking bullies is a snap of a finger. I've attended this school for almost 3 years and man, i tell ya the kids there are just hilarious but in other meaning smart too. So yea from my expreience the school is just wonderful and each year it just gets better. Review Done by Cesar Arroyo - Attended Webb MS 2007-2011 4-27-11
