Uncontrolled bullying that I was warned about prior to attending. Staff does not get involved, even had to seek legal support outside of school because of how bad it got. My son admitted to me, he wished he went to a different school when he first started Jr. High. I know to not let my other children attend this school in the future.

As a eighth grader in Rainier Middle School, I have seen many pros and cons throughout my time at Rainier. I seen many reviews that say that there are many fights, and that many of the students disrupts class. I would like to say that it is true. I am not going to sugarcoat this, but many of these students that I call, "classmate" are quite disruptive, and I wished many times that they would stop. There also many fights, which I don't know why, but I suggest many students must not know how to communicate their feelings towards their classmate. Which is probably why Rainier has so many issues. Even with those negatives, I am quite surprised that there are some positives, such as the amazing supportive teachers that try their best in many ways, and the school hiring and talking about things such as drugs, depression, and many more personal problems. I would also like to include that many of the teachers of Rainier do not assign homework, unless students started slacking. So, I would say Rainier would be an okay option for parents, but I would like to advise them to keep talking to their child, and make sure nothing happens such as fights, bullying, personal reasons, and ETC. SO, if I could, I would rate Rainier Middle School AUBURN WA, a 3.5, an okay option.

Love this school and teachers so far with our two children! The school is clean and my child has developed great friends as well which is so important in today's day an age. So happy we chose here!

My child has only been attending Rainier for 5 months (she’s a sixth grader) and I can already tell that there are MAJOR issues with student behavior and how the staff addresses/handles situations. There have been countless fights (at least 1-2 a WEEK), there are countless disruptions in classes with little-to-no real consequences for the culprit, and there has already been a lockdown due to a child saying he was going to shoot up the school. Staff seems as though they are lost— meaning they have great intentions but little knowledge on how to improve conditions or deal with behavioral problems. They need resources and to become better equipped. I don’t think they entire class sitting with their heads on their tables because a single student refuses to stop disrupting class is appropriate.. reprimand the student! It’s like the teachers are afraid of the kids or something. Quite strange.

The staff is wonderful, especially Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Pridmore, but the administration does not know what they are doing. Maybe a change of administration will improve this school.

This school has no clue on how to deal with teenagers. If a child is disrespected by almost every teacher in the school he/she will learn to despise the school and system in general. The past few years this school has turned out MANY children who will now drop out of school i'm sure due to being "labelled" and just plain old disrespected by uneducated instructors. Its a shame . I do not recommend placing ANY child in this school.
